Unreceived item, is a Paypal or Ebay dispute better.

Feeling paranoid and gathering information, just in case. I bought and paid for an expensive item of clothing without checking the seller's feedback (I know, I know!) I looked because she was very slow to contact me after payment. She apparently has lots of form for not sending items and multiple disputes, although some positives, don't know if she's dodgy or disorganised. Aaaagh!
After multiple e-mails she said it was despatched but it's not here. I paid £5.95 postage for a light dress, described as Royal Mail First Class, it's been three days so it should have arrived.
I've emailed for postage details/tracking but of course nothing. WWYD, wait? Open a dispute tomorrow? With EBay or Paypal its £100 so I can't afford to lose the cash.
Feeling very foolish tbh.

I use eBay regularly but I have never used their dispute resolution process. Sounds like this seller is not too bothered about negative feedback. Paypal were great in getting a dispute resolved for me with Yodel who had insisted they had delivered a parcel to me and I got a full refund.

Thanks, I used an EBay dispute years ago and nothing happened, so no reply from seller, no item, no refund! It was a cheap item so I just let it go but I think I'll go with Paypal this time...

I have opened a dispute with PayPal a seller said she posted a item to me but I never received it she ignored all my messages I sent her this has been nearly 2 weeks now I would open a case as soon as you can eBay is getting from bad to worst how long have you paid and has it gone over estimated delivery

eBay is fine. You do need to escalate it in 8 days otherwise you won't get a refund. But you also need to escalate a paypal claim to get your money back too. I would never bid on a dress with such extortionate postage btw - that is so greedy of the seller.

I'm very intrigued how she's even still selling if such a terrible track record. The Ebay rule tends to be 3 strikes & you're out. Any chance you could post her user name?

cathyandclaire · 22/03/2015 15:37

Well it didn't arrive, so I've started a dispute. She's not a professional eBayer, only sold 10-20 items over the last few years so maybe no point in naming and shaming really although I may change my mind in a week or two just 5 very negative feedbacks on quite expensive items. Some did turn up later so I wonder if she's just useless at getting around to posting things < Pollyanna>

With that many negs she'll probably have her selling privileges banned forever. Probably something dramatic has happened in her life (not your problem, you have to open case to get money back).

I was refunded by the e-bay dispute process, so very efficient from them. Still heard nothing from the seller.
So frustrating, I'd still rather have the dress Grin

Please do leave a neg and low stars for the seller. Has she relisted it?

cathyandclaire · 28/03/2015 21:49

Negative feedback left, not resisted yet but it was a resisted item when I bid
