A buyer had opened a case with me

Regarding an item they have not received, they are requesting a refund, so the refund is less than £7 in total but I sent the item 6 days ago by 2nd class mail and I have the proof of postage. What happens now? A cynical side of me doesn't trust that they haven't received it. How do I know?

I think if you want to argue you can but it may be easier to refund sorry.
I've had this happen to me with two books I ordered at the same time, separate buyers, both failed to arrive. I felt very dodgy and guilty but opened cases with both and they both refunded in full. I thanked them and left feedback (and if the books do turn up I will repay them). I was impressed with how professional they both were.

I dorm think to hey can open a case yet.
I'm not sure of the specifics but I know eBay won't let a buyer open a case until a certain number of days after the expected delivery date.

Although that said, when they do open the case eBay will make you refund them. I've been bitten by this before and I'm still bitter! It's shit but it could be worse, take it as a £7 lesson in not sending anything unless it's recorded delivery.

Oh for crying out loud, that was barely English but you get my drift!

You offer to the buyer a full refund of the cost of the item and the cost of the postage.

You tell the buyer to let you know if the item does in fact turn up.

You contact the Royal Mail with your proof of posting to see if you can get any recompense from them.

Once you've got the case out of the way, you add the buyer to your list of blocked bidders/buyers.

Unless there's something definitely fishy going on, try not to think too much about whether you're being ripped off. Things do go missing, I've had it happen with things sent to me.

randall you know, I didn't spot the mistakes until your second message. I think that this is one of the boards where grammar nazis are not welcome. After all, we deal with babies and toddlers and that is more important than trolling each other. Most of the time.

and send with proof of delivery next time - I prefer Hermes to Royal Mail.
