Hi all

Advice really please!!

I have some lovely genuine Doug Hyde and Govinder originals with COA and all framed

I wonder whether Ebay would be the best place to sell them? I need the best prices possible and I'm pretty sure that the Doug Hyde ones are worth in excess of £800 each

What are your thoughts?

not sure if ebay is best - I would have thought art auction would be better?

Gosh I wish I had some of those to sell!!! I would be booking a holiday!! Although i do have one of them!

Yes I think that might be best, I've noticed that originals don't seem to sell on there

You also have to consider courier costs - glass often won't be covered, and a specialist courier could be v expensive. 10% final value fees too - ebay take a hefty chunk.

Yes eBay costs a fortune!

Just need to find the right auction house now!!

DH and I buy art and for certain artists eBay is a great way of achieving the best price. If we were to sell there are some pieces we would put on eBay and others we would sell through auctions or galleries. Price doesn't have much to do with it, it's much more artist dependent. I'm not sure where Doug Hyde fits into this, but check sold listings on eBay and look online to see how much his work goes for in galleries/ auctions, factor in costs (eBay costs will generally be less) and then decide.
