Should I reveal my reserve price?

I listed an item last night with a low starting price but put a reserve on it as it is worth quite a lot (and is brand new).

Someone has bid on it (approximately 1/5 of the reserve) and has messaged me to ask what my reserve is.

I genuinely don't know whether to tell her or not? Can anyone with some more experience advise me? I have 8 watchers already.

I personally always reveal my reserve price if asked.
Your bidder may have already bid up to the reserve price but it will sit at starting bid until someone bids against them.

I would say your reserve price. It gives the buyer the chance to know whether or not they can afford it. For eg if your reserve is £100 but they can only afford to spend £80 they know whether or not to bother bidding.

I think that's exactly why you shouldn't reveal your reserve - you need everyone to bid to push the bidding up and past the reserve.

This person might really want and wants to know how much shes definitely going to have to pay at least eg100. They might just put a bid in at this amount so they can get it or higher if they do it before auction end and help the price increase

-id tell them

It's daft to reveal, undermines the whole point of reserve prices.
