Changing listing to a Buy It Now…. do you always make the BIN higher than auction start price?

I have an item of clothing that has now been listed 3 times in total
Someone messaged me and asked if i had a BIN price, but they would pay cash on collection
I messaged and said what sort of price was he thinking of?
He messaged back and asked ME what sort of price I had in mind,
In general, are BIN prices always more than the auction start price?
Is this the done thing? (after all , it's not a 'make me an offer' listing)
However he's aware I want to get rid of it, and it's on its third time now
If my start price is £45 (which would've included the postage, which was free, and it's a heavy leather jacket) .. what would you do?

Ie if i sold for £30 - £35 and got cash…then I don't have paypal fees or postage
I suppose this is a more, what would you do.
Or is the done thing to make more money than the orig start price, or at least the same

There are no firm & fast rules.
Since it hasn't sold, your minimum is probably above the market rate.
If they offering you an off-Ebay deal paying cash on collection then £35 is probably a good deal for both of you that most would leap at. And they'll have no comeback which is nice.

ok i reckon £35 is fair.. a tenner cheaper than my starting price but i don't have fees or postage to worry about or wrapping a bulky heavy item
hopefully he' ll agree
