I want to list with no paypal payment

Anyone have experience or tips? I want to sell an expensive bag (rrp £900) and I don't want to take paypal - firstly because of the extra fees, secondly in case the buyer invents some silly reason to complain and get refunded by paypal - I know they usually side with the buyer and I don't want to get stung.

It's original with all receipts etc, so I just don't want to be open to a fraudulent claim that it's not original, it didn't arrive, or a refund where they switch it for a fake.....

What other options can I give buyers? Collect in person from Central London is preferred, or I could even deliver locally, with cash payment. What else would work?

You can't do it officially. You have to accept pp if Ebay buyer insists.

Why not list it on gumtree instead, & insist on cash on delivery/collection? I bet it will get snapped up in central London.

Oh dear, but I can just refund the paypal payment and not send the bag....?

Gumtree is generally not seen as trusted by the 'handbag community' as they perceive there to be lots of fakes. I have receipts etc, and the bag can be inspected.

Do it on gumtree or pre loved (or both) collection only

I had this the other week, with a designer bag I sold. some twat tried to rip me off in the same way you describe (and failed, but was stress I didn't need)

What bag is it btw

Mulberry Bayswater in black. Lovely, but too heavy and I have never used.

How much do you expect to get ? I'd pop it on your Facebook feed and offer it there first.

I don't know - above £750 I'd hope for.

Who sees your fb feed? I don't think I want my dh to know I'm doing this he doesn't even know I bought it Blush

Try Vestiaire Collective website. You can't get ripped off as they inspect all the items before sending on to buyer. I have used it successfully to sell. No listing fee but they take a larger % than ebay. Also no postage costs. They send a pre paid courier slip which you arrange by phone. Buyers are fashion lovers and prepared to pay decent price. Not sure if you would get £750 but you could try and then reduce if doesn't sell. I found VC website via Vogue. It's good for designer items.
