Why do people keep messaging me asking if I'll end the auction early?

And how would I do this? Don't really understand why they are asking - what is the benefit and how would you do it - I thought once the item was listed you had to let the auction run. I sold quite a lot of stuff a couple of years ago and was never asked, but this time round almost every item people are asking me to end it early. Confused!

because they want a bargain or want to secure the item for themselves. You can end to the highest bidder if you want, or cancel bids and add a buy it now price, or you can let the auction run. It is up to you.

What do you sell on ebay?

This item is a wardrobe but it's not that amazing!

I should think they want the item earlier, eg for this weekend, or when it suits them to pick it up, or suits them to dispose of their old one which they are replacing. If you can't let them have it at a time which suits them, then they'll buy another one from someone else. I've had an item ended for me because I was buying a couple of other things from that seller and it meant she could post them all together.

Ahh I see, so it's not dodgy then! Thanks for that.

with very large items and cars this is common if someone comes to see item before auction ends they want to buy it then and there not travel another 50-100 miles 2 days later, provided a decent offer i would accept they probably want to collect this weekend as if not maynot be able to collect fora while

But beware - another recent poster had something for sale, got a bin offer that was double where the bid was, so she thought whoppee and accepted. Short time later she got another bin offer that was £300 more than the first bin price she had accepted - and there's a chance that if she had let it go to the auction it would have gone even higher...

Not saying that happens in every case - there are some people that have genuine reasons but there are also chancres hoping to profit at your expense!!
