Bidder with no feedback

Hi, just wanted some advice on bidders with no feedback. I'm clearing a house thats a distance from where we live after a relative unfortunately passed away. I've got a lot of items and over half have bids from a bidder with no feedback. Its going to be a lot of hassle if he doesn't turn up / pay as we don't live near and the house has to be cleared by a certain date. On the other hand its great if he does take it all as it means less hanging around on the weekend we are up there. Should I be concerned or do you think its fine - afterall we all started with no bids. I have considered contacting him but don't know what to say Confused

Hi,
Perhaps a message to see if the bidder is new to eBay and to check they understand the need to pay by PayPal and collect by the deadline?
No harm in double checking I had a load of baby stuff listed recently and one bidder had no feedback and was a lurker not a regular purchaser. She was fine being checked
Give it a go, I'm sorry for your loss, it's hard having to sort out houses
Thanks

Contact with an email about payment and to ask about collection arrangements. I had two things lately sell to people with no feedback. The first one never replied to any emails or paid. I opened a dispute at ebay - there is a rule about how long you have to give someone to reply, it is only a few days - and it was resolved in three days and I had to repeat the sale. The second time it happened (with someone else) they were perfectly fine and it was their first transaction on ebay. Good luck.

I would message him and check - but whoever buys only ever take cash on collection, never ever paypal. Please ignore Dunwhingin - paypal is not safe unless items sent tracked.

I would just message and state you see he has bid on several items and tell him what date you would be available for him to collect and to confirm cash only, and if this is not ok with them then you can cancel their bids if they wish.

Thanks for your quick replies, I will message him just to make contact, if if doesn't reply within 24 hours I guess I can just cancel his bids?

yes and add to your blocked bidder list too

Justonemorecardi · 11/01/2014 18:55

Didn't realise I need to do that too - does that man he can still bid on the item if I cancel other bids?
Has anyone had any bad experiences with zero feedback bidders or am I just being overcautious?

yes he can still bid if you don't add him to blocked bidder list

zero feedback buyer doesn't mean they are a bad or new buyer, could just be a brand new account for an experienced ebayer.

Well, we all have to start somewhere. Smile
