Selling baby clothes

Do you have an advice in general? I also had some specific questions.

I'm going to be doing big bundles of clothes and was wondering if I should include coats with the bundle or do them separate?

I removed all the stained clothing, but don't really know what to do with it? Some of it is very stained and others are just small stains. They are all food stains. I don't really feel like taking the time to try and get them out so wondering if I should throw them out?

I've never sold anything on eBay before so I'm not really sure what to do.

Thanks for any advice.

Stained items: barely marked you could offer to Freecycle.
Very marked: Textile recycling bins, label bag as rags, can be recycled into Shoddy (used for upholstery).

Beware that LOTS of people try to sell old baby/toddler clothes on Ebay, so it is hard to make much money. Are they designer brands, Pumpkin patch or PoP, maybe?

I would only sell if it is expensive good brands in very good condition, cheaper labels which are stained won't get any interest.

Bundles are good, keep under 2kg then you can courier My Hermes or Collect +. Wait for free listing weekend and start them in the evening. Take lots of pics and describe accurately.

IME selling baby clothes on eBay is a waste of time and money (don't forget fees - I factor in 15% to cover eBay and Paypal fees). Do you have a local FB group for selling baby/kids stuff? These are usually a better option and make you more money (no fees) and you get to meet some lovely people :).

You could list nice coats and snowsuits and any good labels but anything with stains don't bother. Do what lljkk suggested with these.

I'd be tempted to sell coats etc. at an NCT Nearly New Sale. Being bulky, they cost a lot of post.

12 months ago, I made about £300 profit selling baby and toddler clothes. I've put some more baby and toddler stuff up recently and most of it didn't sell. Same brands (mainly next) all in good condition, but there just doesn't seem to be much interest out there. Very disappointing. 12 monts ago, I sold a couple of coats and thee snow suits, but this year, the coats didn't get any interest. I think postage costs put people off maybe?

I always finish auctions in the evening, Sundays seem to do best, combined postage for multiple items won, good pictures.

I send stained stuff to the charity shop in bags marked as rags for them to sell on.

Sometimes it's just luck.

I had 2 bundles on EBay and was hoping for about £10 for each bundle. I got £3 for the. 9-12 month bundle and £36 for the 12-18 month bundle. No idea why the more expensive bundle was more attractive to people.

I have sold loads of baby clothes on Ebay. Its a great way to make some extra cash. I only sell either BNWT items that were unwanted gifts etc or very good condition used items, as I only sell what I would buy myself. Stained items are a total no no in my eyes whether the stain is big or small...

Through experience i have found the best sellers to be Next outfits/sets, or Disney/ Mickey Mouse type items. I always list with multiple photos , close ups of any embroidery/ patterns/ labels etc , again as when I am buying that is what I look for in a listing...

I just went through boxes of clothes I had (ages 0-7 yrs) and as they were too many to sell individually on ebay I listed them on a local forum saying I had loads of clothes and to please contact me if you were interested. I sold 3/4 of it by having people come round to my house. They could see the quality/condition of what they were buying, comfortable environment, at a time that suited them (I work from home) and I made over £400.-!
I then googled and found a local refuge for women escaping domestic violence and donated the rest to them. They were thrilled to have donations of things ranging from maternity clothes, toys, bedding, blankets, towels & children's clothes.
I also kept a bag of 0-3month clothes which I took to my local hospital neo-natal unit as they always need baby clothes for the new mothers who haven't got any.
For very little effort things got re-homed where they were needed.
