Refunding return postage?

Would you refund return postage? Buyer has returned item as it was damaged (possibly my own fault as didn't check knitwear for pulls before I sold it) and I've refunded but she has asked me to refund her return postage as well. Would you?

yes if it was my fault I would - don't see why buyer should be out of pocket through no fault of their own.

well, technically i don't believe you have to.

up to you whether you feel you ought to

if it was my fault, then yes.

if it was a buy it now and they decided to return because they changed their mind, no.

I refund return postage if I have missed something but buyer pays if it doesn't fit or they change their mind. If you missed some pulls on a jumper then if it was me I would refund because as SandyD says the buyer should not be out of pocket. If you described as fair condition bobbling or pulls then you need not refund but probably best to anyway or take some bad feedback from an unhappy buyer and that might not be worth it for the cost of return post. If you relist then mention any issues to cover yourself or if possible fix any pulls by pulling back through to the inside of sweater.
