Bought 2 mugs which are not as described, they are nothing like the photo and ceramic not fine porcelain as described.

Contacted the seller first who was arsey as anything which infuriated me so I am prepared to pay my return postage costs, and leave negative fb but her terms are 'accepts returns and will offer a full refund minus initial postage costs.'

So therefore I am paying return postage AND initial postage.

Is this right ? even if i were to open a nad case do i have to pay twice ?

no it is not right, if you open a case you may have to return at your expense, but you get all your money back including initial p&P.

HormonalHousewife · 14/10/2013 19:15

Hmm. I thought that too.

However when I start to open the case I get the following :

Items may be returned as new within 7 days for a refund of the cost of the item minus postage costs. What with the cost of postage these days its going to cost too much.

If thats the case I'd rather not bother, keep the damm things and recycle at school tombola

if you write in the dispute the cost of postage makes it too expensive to return ebay may give a no fault refund without the necessity for a return - worth a try anyway.

Can you open a case, anyway?. I think if you opened a case & escalated it 8 days later you would probably get all costs refunded, but the worst case is Ebay doesn't cover your costs so you don't bother to return but no worse off than you are now. They are eejits to be difficult with you.

HormonalHousewife · 15/10/2013 10:28

OK case opened... lets see !

Oh, spoke to someone at customer support and they implied I would get my full purchase cost plus initial postage back, but I had to bear the cost of return, which is what we thought. Sounds like whatever you put in your terms as a seller can be overruled by ebay !

aaaaaarghhhh

I am never buying anything off ebay again !

Decided to suck up to the cost of sending it back myself £4.89 using collect plus only to find they wont return to a PO box.

the actual address is 88 blwch bost (which is welsh for PO box) and if I type it in welsh they accept it. Its not worth the risk is it ? the shop will take it from me unknowingly then return it and I will be down the £4.89 as well wont I ?

Cant believe the nerve of the seller. So sarcastic... the last message ended with ' Sorry you're finding that hard to understand. Others seem to cope. Many thanks."

Cant wait to exact my revenge with some carefully worded feedback.

So therefore its back to royal mail at £6 odd unless anyone knows a courier thats cheaper ?

maybe ask on live chat for some more information on what to do in that case?

HormonalHousewife · 17/10/2013 15:04

Live chat ?

They were useless and gave me a phone number of the resolution centre on the other side of the world.

They said the seller had an invalid address (erm no its actually a PO box ) and that they would contact the seller for a valid one. In the event of them not responding I can escalate the case in a week.

I honestly think I have spent too much time and effort on this. Its back to plan B for now and donate the things to school or a charity shop I think.

Thanks for all the advice along the way.

if you note in the case you are unable to send back to a po box with a signature I wonder if ebay will still refund you after you have escalated.
