Unfair feedback from buyer!

I'm really hacked off. I sold an item last week, good condition and very cheap. No payment or communication from seller by 3 days, so sent a very polite email asking if they still wanted them. No reply by that evening so opened a non payment case.

The seller paid late that night and I posted first thing the next morning.

They've now left me neutral feedback and "okey" as their feedback.

I'm sure it's because I dared to open a case! Can I get it retracted? What would you do? Thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry too much about a neutral. When I'm buying and I see a comment like that I just think it's someone who only gives positive feedback in rare circumstances.

LilyBossom · 05/08/2013 17:28

no you can't remove it - just leave follow up saying 'wish buyer had contacted to resolve any issues before leaving fb' or something like that.

Thank you, can I leave something saying she only paid after I opened a case?

yes you could, just make sure you don't sound angry or mean in it. Wait 24 hours and leave it then - you will be calmer. It is only a neut, really not worth getting upset over.

ReluctantBeing · 05/08/2013 18:34

I wouldn't put a comment about there being any issues because it'll make it sound like there was a problem with your item or service. Look at the feedback they have left for others before you do anything.

I think they can get eBay to remove feedback if you refer explicitly to a case. You could say something like 'buyer eventually paid after prompting'.

FlamingGallah · 05/08/2013 21:34

Thank you all for the perspective! I was just really annoyed that she didn't pay for a wretched £1 item and then trashes my 100% positive feedback.

Have looked at the feedback she leaves for others, and it's always one word, but usually good/perfect/nice.

Mystery fairy, I like your style! I think that's the one to go for, and say that she didn't contact me before leaving FB.

She can't then downgrade me even further to a negative can she?

OP
You still have 100% feedback - go and check. Only negatives can drag your percentage score down. It's not the colour of the feedback dot that sellers should be concerned about, it's the star rating on the DSR's (detailed seller ratings) that a buyer leaves. Having a couple of low ones will get a seller's account into trouble with eBay, especially f they don't sell very much.

Leaving a negative or bad comment about a buyer within a positive, will also get a seller into trouble: it's not allowed.

You can send the buyer a feedback revision request if you feel strongly enough but as you get a very limited number of these, I wouldn't bother wasting one unless you're sure the buyer is going to agree to it: a neutral isn't worth it tbh.

Thanks MrsTingley - once my somewhat disproportionate rage had settled down, I ended up just replying to her unfair feedback of me with some of the suggestions above. I'm not going to bother leaving her FB for the reasons you state. And I've hopefully added her to my blocked bidder list.

Thanks for all the advice. I was getting quite addicted to selling on eBay but have had a few non or late payers now, it was bound to happen at some point.
