help please! novice seller here ... I have a few children's toys which are cumbersome rather than heavy - ride on toys/bundles of mixed toys etc that I would like to ebay on a buyer collects and courier service as I feel I will get more bidders. How does everyone else package such items for couriers without spending a fortune and when you don't have original boxes etc?

Get other boxes to fit items into.
I've had stuff like bike seats & pushchairs arrive to me in little more than bin bags.

mattress bags are very tough, can pack almost anything in one of them.

ride on plastic toys wrap in newspaper and the thick black bin bag, if not breakable a few sheets of newspaper is fine to stop corners poking through bag and to protect against being dropped etc

lots of things dismantle slightly if you can get into a large cardboard box the sort supermarkets have for multipack crisps then a courier will be about £5-10 depending on weight/ dimensions ( if you go in the mornings when shelves are being stacked most supermarkets will give you the boxes for free as they have to pay to get them collected, for smaller items old wine boxes are good get them from your local corner shop

soft toys can be squashed just tell buyer you are doing so to get cheaper postage

if you can get into a box about 50x30x30cm you can send for about £5

a service like parcel2go will give quotes if you enter weight and size
