Ebay Driving me mad - designer goods

SO DH and I are relatively new to ebay....though have sold abit of baby stuff, and actually DH is constantly upgrading his bike, by buying and selling stuff on ebay - so we do have good feedback.
Anyway we I have a number of designer handbags (LV and anya hindmarsh) that I just don't use anymore - so I thought rather than cluttering up the cupboard I would sell them....this is where the fun starts. It was a free listing weekend, so got them out, photographed them, created ad's - and now ebay has withdrawn them and banned us from selling any clothing and accessories. WTF
TBH I am outraged - as they are genuine, and being a handbag fiend, there are lots on ebay that are not....

But how to sell them - DH had a very annoying converstaion with customer service, lots of platitudes, but they had no power to over rule.

So what do we do? is there anyway we can sell our bags?

Gum tree or designer goods second hand shop who will take a percentage.

Have you contacted eBay to ask why you've been banned?

Would love to see them but am on a bag ban after buying an anya bag for birthday!

Yes just to contact them - but are just getting nowhere - lots of platitudes, but nobody has any power.
Part of the problem is - that I don't have receipts for the bags - particularly the LV ones - as they are all about 10yrs old..... Never thought they would become cupboard ornaments and then I would sell them.
DH doesn't think we will get anywhere with Gumtree, as they are owned by eBay?
Will check out you other suggestion though!

Chablis - can you suggest any designer goods second hand shops ? I really don't know any here.....(haven't lived here that long)
I live in St Albans but DH travels into London every day, so could easily go to one in London.......

Gumtree is free - just make sure you only take cash when they are collected.

Being banned from ebay doesn't stop you using Gumtree

Given all the fakes on eBay is it any wonder genuine sellers go elsewhere.

There is also a blogger who sells on eBay you could contact her. Will google her and post in a mo.

How do they decide it is genuine? I received a warning before posting mine that it would be checked, but it was listed with no problems.

my theory?

that other sellers selling similar items probably fake report you to ebay as a counterfeit seller

apparently also some brands scour ebay for fakes and they report it to ebay for removal. but don't know how much truth is in that. and also, if the OPs are genuine, which i am sure they are, then they would be ok

personally i think its the latter

Certain key words in descriptions are automatically flagged. I put a Gucci top on there but luckily it was obviously not a fake (the fake clothing all tends to be jeans or T-shirts).

I don't think you'd have got much for them on ebay as most bags on there are either fake, or presumed to be fake. There is a group on the net somewhere that specialise in selling LV bags, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of them though, but a google should lead you to them.

they are very wary of new sellers selling designer labels especially more than 1 of them, often people are restricted to 1 a month and you need to be able to prove genuine,

i think you are just too new a seller they have only banned clothes so try selling a few other things build up some more feedback and maybe in 3 months time ask if you can just list one

we're not that new - just all of a sudden I suppose we have ramped up our selling - again it has mostly been bike and baby stuff , but then I decided to sell a heap of handbags.......well 3 or 4....not a consignment load! and actually interms of designer goods DH has probably bought more than we have sold.

DH did research and apparently LV actively trawls through (or pays an agency to rather) - but they just seem to report everything.....which probably suits LV just fine, as if you can't buy it second hand you might buy it new.......

Interms of proof - we also discovered that LV have been hiding serial numbers in there bags - my Nolita has one - which is 12 years old, which absolutely stunned me....so yes from that perspective, I can prove they are genuine.

Will look into Gumtree........

I had a non-paying buyer for my designer bag! Trying to relist it and I've got to go through the paypal verification process before being allowed to sell 'another' of the same brand ("as buyers have high expectations of some brands), which will take a couple of days.

I give up with ebay, I really do.

did you file a non paying dispute against your non payer first hazywood?
