How can I open a returns case via purchase history please?

I've bought 3 items off the same seller which all have to be returned. There's no problem with this as they have a no questions asked returns policy. I contacted the seller yesterday to ask for details of where to send the items back to and have had a message asking me to open a returns case via my purchase history.

I know this sounds daft but I can't see how to do it! Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

There should be no need for you to open a case - is the seller being awkward? Make sure you return with signature so you can prove seller received them.

Many thanks for this fergoose, I've just managed to do it by following your link :)

I did wonder why they'd asked me to open a case. They're not being awkward as far as I know. It was items of clothing that I bought and it did state no questions asked on the listing so maybe this is just the way they do it? :s

Anyway, I shall keep my fingers crossed! Thanks for your help.

Hi, the seller isn't being awkward. If a buyer opens an official returns case, when the seller refunds their payment, they in turn receive a refund of their selling fee from Ebay. If they refund the payment without it going through the resolution centre then they can't get the fee back.

as mrs natural says go to resolve a problem there are 3 options

  1. item not as described
  2. I want to return for refund
  3. item not arrived

select option 2

you can get a refund without a case but you rely on buyer agreeing to cancel transaction or not bothering in which case after 7 days you can get fees back but an official return is better for buyer and seller
