What to do about message from non payer?

Been selling a fair bit of stuff recently - nothing particularly high value - mainly the kids outgrown stuff although some items are unworn/still labelled.

Anyway, sold a new kids top last week - sale ended on Fri 26th, I invoiced Sat 27th then heard nothing - package is wrapped and addressed and ready to go. Anyway, I gave benefit of the doubt it being half term etc so send a message on Friday 2nd Nov - just saying "Hi, I invoiced for this last week and haven't heard anything. I presume that you may be away for half term or have simply forgotten - please let me know."

I get a message back just now saying "hi can u relist or second chances it. son has already got this very sorry. will leave u pos feedback. thank u"

Now, we are only taking about 6.39 plus postage, and she has good feedback, only one negative and that's in relation to something she sold not bought.

Presumably I will end up out of pocket - if I 2nd chance offer then I will get less but as it's so long since the auction ended, can't imagine that the person will be interested now. If I relist then i'll have fees to pay and may not get the same for it. I know it's only a few quid, but it's the fact that she took a week and half to bother coming back to me - but I am caught between a rock and a hard place as she can leave me negative feedback if I don't do what she says and I see the thing about leaving positive feedback as a veiled threat.

Soooo what would you do?

They have to be reported for ebaY to act, it seems. I've seen loads, too.

Sorry for not getting back...I had someone who bid for something and didn`t pay. I sent an email to the buyer asking what she was going to do re payment. Turns out a friend had hacked her account and tried to buy goods without the person knowing. Hence ebay messaged me and said it was a suspicious buyer and cancelled the order and reimbursed my seller fees.

amck5700 · 06/11/2012 20:41

Ahhh - that makes sense. Not sure if I believe the person or not but there you go. At the end of the day the items would be mailed to the persons verified address so was the "friend" going to hide in a bush and accost the postie??

i've done 'positive' feedback and left a truthful comment. what is the point of feedback if you cannot do this.

i've closed my cases. does this mean that ebay will note that this buyer is a pain in the nether regions and give her a black mark

anyway i'm past caring. what a load of rubbish it is.

t0lk13n · 06/11/2012 21:08

I just thought the buyer had changed mind until I had the message from Ebay.

Mamadadude · 06/11/2012 21:59

"Wardrobe Lady" as I shall call her, has now left me some positive feedback complaining that I haven't replied to her messages asking me to cancel the transaction. Can I get this removed? I had a look at her feedback page earlier and she's left a neutral comment to someone else asking for another transaction to be cancelled.. and guess what it's for...another wardrobe! What's she playing at?!

LineRunner · 06/11/2012 22:01

You can report a buyer now. Report her for the other stuff as well as yours.

amck5700 · 06/11/2012 22:03

lol Mamadadude - I know I shouldn't laugh, but where do these people come from and don't they know that you can look at other things they are buying???

I thought once you open a case that neither of you can leave feedback?

I'd contact ebay and ask for it to be removed.

You're alright amck5700, it is quite funny! I think I shall report her.

amck5700 · 06/11/2012 22:15

sounds like a plan! maybe she has some kind of wardrobe fetish!

Grin @ Wardrobe lady

Mamadadude · 06/11/2012 22:50

Just had a lovely chat with Ebay Man online. He says that comment will be removed when I close the case in two days time. Wardrobe Lady may well have closet addiction! Expensive though, mine was £50 but the other one she's bought is 300 quid!

amck5700 · 06/11/2012 22:57

cheap tat, no wonder she wanted her money back :o

Lol! Finally feel confident doing the right thing though!

queenofthepirates · 07/11/2012 12:30

Jeez some buyers.... I bid on 6 pairs of jeans for my DD, expecting to get maybe 3. Well I got all 6. Chalked it up to experience, paid for them and promptly put 3 pairs back on E-Bay. Ditto 2 mobile phones although that's just handy because my DD is a chucker.

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 14:58

agree queen - that's exaxtly what I would do too - at least then you had the choice of the 6 to choose from :)
