I bought some little lamb nappies (infact ive been buying LOTS of pre loved nappies recently) for my 8 week old

they've arrived and the elastics have gone in them all, around the waist & legs, making them fairly useless, they wont contain any thing like that. The seller said they had some marks on them from washing them with a dark sock - but infact, they are all hidiously grey and the wraps are completely fucked, I spent over £40 - seller says they dont except returns

Im gutted as buying reusables to try and SAVE some money... i cant afford to waist this money and there is no way I can use them, or sell them on.,...

ive sent the seller a polite note, but Ebay says that the seller doesnt except returns,

what is likely to happen?

how do i escelate it?

fuck my spelling is terrible

i blame 4 hours sleep in two days

any way all i seem to be able to do is respond to the seller - which ive done, saying i dont want any of it, or a partial refund

now what?

you have to wait until day 8 and then the option to escalate the case will be in the resolution centre.

OnlyWantsOne · 24/10/2012 12:59

She's replied saying bin them all & she will refund me !

OP posts:
OnlyWantsOne · 24/10/2012 13:00

Seller's message:
'I will reimburse you today Please throw the items away as I cannot afore to pay the postage'

If you're satisfied with this solution, you can let the seller know by sending a message in the Resolution Centre. If you don't want to accept this offer, we encourage you to send the seller a message with a solution that you'd be happy with.

You can also view the details of this case in the Resolution Centre.

Accept it but don't close the case until you've got the refund, whatever you do!

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 10:36

she now says

'Hi I tried to do this yesterday but your payment is being HELD by eBay in my PayPal account so I presume that as I have offered you a full refund this will automatically be debited to your PayPal account '

is this likely? What happens?

this is why i hardly use ebay

Is your PayPal account linked to your bank so it comes out as a direct debit?

Either way, it means PayPal haven't received your cleared funds yet. If I recall correctly eBay automatically closes the dispute once you've received the refund anyway. Certainly don't close it yourself at this point.

Aspiemum2 · 25/10/2012 10:41

And no, her saying she will refund doesn't automatically do anything. She has to physically refund the payment.

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 10:44

Yes my bank is linked to my PayPal but I paid her with money I already had in my PayPal account - nothing to come out of my bank.

She's now telling me I have to contact PayPal myself and ask them

OP posts:
fergoose · 25/10/2012 11:06

no she has to actually issue the refund to you. Can't she do this via the dispute in the resolution centre?

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 12:03

I've asked her.

I can see this tuning into such a pain.

OP posts:
Aspiemum2 · 25/10/2012 12:26

I get that feeling too. I bought something that never turned up and seller was all "I don't know what to do" "perhaps you should go to Royal Mail for the refund" "this has never happened to me before" and "well I'll refund half"

Needless to say I opened a dispute and later on I checked further back on her feedback and she'd done it heaps of times when things haven't sold for as much as she wanted.

I realised 2 things - 100% feedback doesn't always tell the whole picture. Loads of folk just leave neutral

And secondly to be less gullible, I'd totally believed her and she was lying through her teeth! Angry

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 18:13

When asked if she had refunded me this is her reply -

Seller's message:
'I think this is what eBay will do as I do not have the money in my account as it is being held. I could have done this had you not opened a case against me but now as it stands it is in the hands of eBay

OP posts:
OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 18:14

Can I phone eBay?

OP posts:
TheMonster · 25/10/2012 18:22

Yes, eBay have a helpline and they are good . Have you checked PayPal? eBay don't hold money .

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 18:33

There's nothing on my PayPal account showing any refund from her.

The transaction where I payed her is "completed"

Gah fucking grrrrr what can I do?

OP posts:
TheMonster · 25/10/2012 18:36

Try ringing eBay.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 25/10/2012 19:46

If she has already withdrawn the funds from PP then it takes a few days to move the money from her bank account back to PP for her to issue a refund. At least that's how it was when I had to refund a while ago..

fergoose · 25/10/2012 20:08

I think the payment is being held so the seller can't access it - but I thought she would be able to still refund it if it is held - I could be wrong.

either way the seller should be sorting this out - it isn't up to the buyer to chase up with paypal/ebay is it.

OnlyWantsOne · 25/10/2012 21:50

Bored of this. Thank you all for all your help :)
