Buyer has ended my item and only wanting to view it tomorrow

I received a message from a buyer earlier regarding a pushchair I'm selling. The buyer has since brought from the buy it now option but only wants to view it tomorrow. As she has 'brought it' does that mean she needs to transfer money today before seeing it

If she's bought it then she needs to pay for it as she has agreed to buy it. If she doesn't then you need to open a dispute for non payment and your eBay fees will be refunded

The buyer hasn't even said she's definitely having the pushchair just wants to look

If the buyer has used buy it now then they have entered into the contract with you to buy the pushchair.

If she's used buy it now she's brought it!

Ask her to pay via paypal before she collects.

But she has bought it if she has ended it. What did she actually say? Was it 'buy it now'?

No no no, DON'T let her pay by Paypal - it's a nightmare with collection items as they can claim non-receipt and then Paypal refund their money.

She has boight it, legally. If she doesn't pay up open a dispute with eBay and she'll get a non-paying buyer strike against her.

(being fair to her, she may have every intention of paying but have been burned before by an item not as described so is covering herself)

I have been on ebay for over ten years and apart from one i have always had lovely buyers - i think i must be really lucky.

There have been a few posters on here stung that way, although I'm sure the majority of buyers are honest and woukdn't try it. If I'm buying a collection item I always check whether they'd prefer Paypal in advance or cash on the day and so far they've been split roughly 50/50.

The message she sent was
Hi, please can I look at the pushchair if good condition and suits my needs I'll buy it.

I'd just replied to that when I got an email saying she had brought it buy it now.
So confused (new to eBay) about whether she has to buy it now

She has bought it. When you click on "Buy it Now" you get a message warning you that you are about to enterbinto a legally binding contract, and do you want to confirm that? So she doesn't have a leg to stand on if she claims that she didn't intend to buy it.

She may not have meant to buy it but as she has used buy it now that is what she has done.

OK, so you got that message before she did 'buy it now' did you? If so, maybe she decided to just buy it after all. It is Confused though.

I would send her an invoice through the listing, there is an icon to press to do this. In the box say 'cash on collection'.

Also, send her a message saying "I see you have changed your mind about coming to see the buggy before you bought it. Good times for us for you to come and collect it are Sunday after midday or Tuesday evening"

Have contacted and stated that she has brought it so am expecting her to pay cash and take it when she comes and that if she doesn't I'll have to open a case about it being unpaid for

It's certainly a tad abrupt seeing as she hasn't done anything wrong! I would have waited to see what she was doing first!

I don't think it was abrupt - it is clear when you hit a buy it now button what you are doing - it isn't a view it now with the chance of buying if you like it button is it. By buying the item the op now has final value fees to pay, and relisting fees if the sale falls through. Plus hassle, etc.

id been mucked about by someone doing that before and not buying it so wasnt taking any chances

on the other hand she may come with cash it is better she does not pay and leaves it with you than buys with cash then opens not as described case for faults no obvious on inspection,

I think with all cash on collection items there is a small chance than A) they do not turn up or b) they turn up and don't buy

however she may have been burnt by opposite scenario that she paid for collection item only to get there and find it was nothing like description

although it is a commitment to buy and she should I think if item is collection only you do have to be a bit flexible about collection arrangements I think if you can only manage a couple of evenings it needs to be in listing not in after sales call
