Seller on Ebay does not want to give us the item we bought

We bid on a buggy on Ebay Anderson the auction. It is a nearly new buggy but we go it a lot cheaper than it costs in the shops. I have now contacted the seller to ask when we can pick it up but I can not get an answer. Problem is our old buggy is already sold and gets picked up on Friday.

You can complain to ebay, and get your money back, but at the end of the day if the seller says that the buggy is damaged (for example) and cant be sold then you don't really have any way to force them to hand over than buggy.

Try Gumtree, I got one on there at short notice, lost my original buggy.

It is annoying but I don't think there is anything you can do, just put them on your don't bid list or something.

She doesnt even reply to my messages. I already paid the buggy etc. it is just annoying. It's still £300 we paid and it's not my fault that she put bad pictures of a dirty buggy on there.

When did you win the bid? Did you pay through PayPal? If so open the dispute with them and you will get your money back (eventually). Did you check the sellers feedback before buying an expensive item? A must if you ask me

Why did you buy a dirty buggy and why so you think that's related to why she is not contacting you?

Re paying £300 I'm assuming it's a bugaboo or similar that would usually go for much more but didn't due to a poor effort with the listing.

What do you mean, "bad pictures of a dirty buggy"? Did you bid on the auction despite the buggy looking crap? What's the relevance of that now?

I bpis and won a satnav, it was just under £100. I wahited for 10 days or whatever it is before you open a dispute and did a paypal thingy and complained to ebay. I kept all the emails.

Then when she faffed a bit more I went to the police armed to the ears with info. They investigated and it turned out I wasn't the only person she had done this to. She tried all sorts, but I stuck to my guns and in the end with prosecution hanging over her head, she gave me my money back.

I was also very thorough when it came to cars (my x bought and sold them), I discovered one day that a chaps address didn't correspond with his postcode and sent an email to ebay saying so. He withdrew his car.

I think she's saying that she got a good deal but the vendor is pissed off because they thought they'd get more than £300. The 'dirty buggy pictures' reference means that the vendor should have posted some nicer pictures if she wanted a nicer sale price.

You bought it, it's yours. Open a dispute, you will either get the pram or you'll get your money. Ebay generally sides with the buyer.

I think you were a bit foolish to sell your other buggy before you had new one in your possession, that is not seller's problem.

No, but it's a problem if they're a con artist. If someone accepts the money and then doesn't respond to emails, that's not a great sign.

Get onto ebay asap.

Report them and also give them poor feedback: try to affect their rating to they won't be able to do it again.

And contact ebay - definitely.

If you're picking something up, pay cash when you collect it, so if it's a pile of crap you can walk away (the seller not insisting on this is also a bit of a red flag - they shouldn't want you to pay by Paypal in case you open a dispute after getting the pram).

Open a dispute to get your money back, in my experience we got the money back quickly, within a week. Then start looking for another buggy.

It looks like mud stains, we have a high water pressure cleaner and a washmachine. It's nearly new and a limited edition, so I can't get it in the shops anymore.

what did the listing say about dispatch times? when did it end? may be the seller is just away for a few days or has had a fmaily crisis?

When did the listing end though? If it's today...or even yesterday you might be jumping the gun.

This is a really confusing thread OP.

If you have paid for this pushchair by Paypal then you can claim non receipt and get your money back after a certain amount of time.

You can also get her contact details from ebay. All of this can be done by going to the Paypal website for your refund and ebay for her telephone number/contact details. If you have done a bank transfer then you probably are not going to see the money again unless you take her to court.
