I have a fairly large bulky item on eBay at the moment.

Someone has just contacted me saying if they win the auction would I be ok to pack it up so they can arrange and pay for a courier. To Slovenia.

The buyer has 100% feedback and knows her stuff about the item so has obviously looked into it properly.

I really want to say No, but I'm not sure why. Can you think of any reason I shouldn't do this or will it be fine?

If you were already willing to pack it and send it in the UK, simply get a quote to send it to Slovenia [insured] and quote her.

If its collection only, you can refuse.

Don't let her send a courier! You'll have no proof the item was sent if she pulls a fast one.

Oh and if you want to say no, say no. Its your choice.

cybbo · 01/09/2012 08:50

Say no if you don't want all the hassle of courier. You'd have to pack it all up as well. I wouldn't bothe tbh

YeahBuddy · 01/09/2012 08:50

I agree with honeydragon, sort the courier out yourself. I've been stung by a similar sort of thing and that was sending items in this country!

EdMcDunnough · 01/09/2012 08:50

I would say don't do it.

It will cost an absolute fortune to post and you can't find out easily before the end, to get her agreement.

Even small items have to fit within a box no more than about 30cm long x height x width. That's for Europe with RM.

Do not allow her to arrange her own courier because your responsibility to get it to her door in one piece will remain, and if you've no control over this, you see the problem. And she can still claim from you if it doesn't make it.

I would seriously just say, no, sorry.

Thank-you for the quick replies.

Saying no seems like the easiest option. Think I'll do that.

And make sure you add them to your blocked bidder list and make sure your buyer requirements don't allow buyers from abroad

Parcel2go will quote to slovenia parcelforce euro have just sent 7kg parcel to italy for £25 it goes on distance so probably would be 35-40 to eastern europe

in your case with never having done it before and only hours to spare i would say no

if sometihng is too big/heavy for royal mail ie over 2kg and dimensions add to more than 90cm i tell them they must getr quote at least 12 hours before auction ends by sending postcode/address
