Reserve

Just a quicky.
I've listed an item I hope to get about £500 for. I've put a reserve on of £300 because I really couldn't let it go for less. Someone has just asked what the reserve is.

Should I tell them? Thought it was kept secret so that people bid what they think item is worth, not the lowest possible you will accept. Have a feeling if I told them they would just reply back offering that amount.

I've had 4 separate offers this morning so I'm not too worried about the item selling.

It's entirely up to you. The reserve is there so you don't lose out on selling it too cheaply.

Depends how quickly you want a sale?

I'd tell them. I often don't bother bidding on items with a reserve. Personally, I think if you really wanted no less than £300, you should have started the bidding at £300 (but of course, ppl don't do that because it costs more to list).

If they know the reserve, then you might well find that they bid?

Fair enough, I will tell them the reserve. Thanks

It is your choice - if you don't want to tell them the reserve you don't have to.
