Lowering a maximum bid?

quoteunquote · 27/07/2012 14:56

Is it possible to do so,

I am the winning bidder at the moment, but I put in a really high maximum bid to back that up, I have now bought another item in a larger size, so don't really need the item that has yet to finish,

I don't need to remove my bid that is winning, as the item will go much higher than what it is at now, if it doesn't, I have a bargain anyway.

If some kind experienced person could explain how to remove a high maximum bid in words a tecy numptie two year old could understand, I would be very grateful.

You can retract your bid, if you are logged into ebay you can use this link as below, otherwise search on ebay for "retracting bid"

offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RetractBidShow&guest=1

or you can message the seller and explain the situation, and ask them to cancel your bid, which depending on how nice they are, they may or may not do!

thanks, so I can't just reduce the maximum bid then?

I have to withdraw the bid I have winning at the moment?

yes you will need to cancel the bid entirely then if you want to bid at a lower price you can rebid at that amount.
