Buyer has opened a dispute over something she received a month ago

I sold a Prada wallet. I was not new, and I gave a detailed description of the faults and lots of photos. I even said in the listing that I was making it clear that the wallet was not in perfect condition.

The transaction was at the beginning of June. I heard from Paypal today that the buyer has opened a dispute about it, saying that it was not as described. I am so annoyed. She didn't contact me at all in the all the weeks she had it. How do I know that she hasn't been using it and/or damaged it in the meantime?

I gave my version of events to Paypal. They say they review the information and make a decision, but how can they unless they actually see the wallet in RL?

Does anyone have any experience of this kind if thing?

they will ask the buyer to return it and then will refund her the money - the buyer will have to provide tracking info to show they have sent it back.

They will tell her to return it to me? That doesn't seem fair, it is exactly as I described it.

yes, well the buyer has 45 days to open a dispute - what has she said is wrong with it?

VerityBrulee · 18/07/2012 23:01

She didn't specify, just said it was not as ðescribed.

Is that what happens with all disputes? What's to stop someone buying something, using it for 44 days, then opening a dispute and sending it back Hmm

thanks for the info fergoose

nothing stopping them at all. They have to give a reason in the dispute though?

Paypal pretty much always find in the buyer's favour. It's a bit crap, TBH. Technically speaking you could still take action against the buyer in the small claims court but, well, no one's very likely to do that. Have you left feedback yet?

Gosh, I'd better not spend any of my eBay £ for 45 days Shock! That seems like quite a long time.
