I have purchased something on e-bay late last night and I assumed that it came with everything that is normally included...ie when you buy it in a shop. There was no mention of it being missing something but equally there was no mention of the thing actually being there if that makes sense? Im sorry for being vague I just don't want to give out loads of details until I know whats going on!

I had contacted seller yesterday to ask a question which they replied about some other details about the item but I suddenly thought this morning that I better just double check that this other bit is with it and the seller has come back to say that it isn't because she has already sold it.

I have replied very very politely saying that Im really sorry but I won't be able to proceed with transaction as it's useless to me without the bit thats missing and thats entirely my fault for not checking before hand but I had presumed that everything was there as it's a fairly crucial bit thats missing. I asked her if we could cancel the transaction so she could get fees back and then refund me (I paid last night as soon as I bought it!).

She hasn't come back to me yet but I have a funny feeling she isn't going to agree to cancel transaction...I really cannot afford to lose that sort of money as its nearly £300 and I can't even sell it myself because like me nobody is going to want it without the other bit there!

Any suggestions as to what I can do...Im sitting here crying cause Ive been so stupid! I always check and double check what I buy but I just assumed it was there.

well you can get your money back so don't worry about that - you can log into paypal and file an item not received to get a full refund if the seller refuses to co-operate. You can get their number and give them a ring if you want?

As for cancelling the transaction, they should do this too otherwise they will be landed with a 10% fvf to pay.

And if in the meantime the parcel does arrive just refuse to sign for it and ask them to return to sender.

Thanks Fergoose-in hindsight I should have realised something was up as it was quite cheap...am kicking myself now lol!

I'll see if she messages me back I think and then go from there...if it was me as the seller Id do it no problem at all but I just get the feeling that she's not going to be so helpful.

Without sounding dim how would the item not received work if she does actually send it? Its a pushchair so its being sent by courier...I assume I could just refuse delivery?

Part of me is saying just get the damn thing and sort it out myself but it's going to cost me loads more than I wanted to pay that way hence why I was so chuffed Id found a bargain!

Oh crossed posts lol! I did speak to my credit card provider this morning and they said they could do a charge back as well if necessary but it'd be much easier for her to just cancel it. I just want to know now lol!

yes - just refuse delivery. Without online proof of delivery then you will get a refund, but it would be easier, and cheaper, all round if seller just refunds and cancels transaction then either relists or offers to under bidder.

They haven't marked it as dispatched yet?

can you log into paypal now - click on resolution centre then dispute a transaction from there - that will freeze the money now and then seller just has to click refund. That is what I would do if I got no reply from the seller.
