Seller Requesting additional postage costs

I purchased an item, and seller listed postage as £5. I received item promptly, So later seller emailed me to say postage was in excess of listing - would I pay more. Seller has sent me a pay pal invoice. I am inclined to ignore, not my problem.

Ignore it. They are trying it on.

So you have already paid for and received the item and now they are asking for more money? I definitely wouldn't pay! It's the seller's fault for not calculating postage accurately.

CointreauVersial · 14/06/2012 20:59

I'd send a polite note back to say thanks for the item, but you bought it at the price quoted and cannot be expected to pay more. Unless it cost a whole stack more and you are feeling particularly guilty/generous. Cheeky sod.

Thanks for prompt reply, Yes I have received item but seller has sent three emails asking for more postage. Now, I don't use EBay a lot, but was it not the seller responsibility to get the postage right?

When I sold some items and the postage was higher I wouldn't have dreamt about asking for more. They are taking the piss!

SNOWBall4girlz · 14/06/2012 21:15

Gosh ignore the emails and do not pay the extra what a cheeky seller. I have underestimated postage lots of times and it is just one of those things that happen.
Can you report it to ebay ? She is harassing you.

fergoose · 14/06/2012 21:18

it is the seller's responsibility and they are harassing you now - I would reply and tell them to stop contacting you as it is harassment and they are wrong. And I would leave a neg probably too.

I had to pay an extra £9 postage last week as ebays estimator was wrong but didn't ask buyer for it! I did let them know I'd paid more but as it was my fault for having the wrong sum down on listing ( so hopefully they'd appreciate it).

if a seller makes mistake with postage the seller has to cover costs you can only ask for more if buyer asks for different service ie they want royal mail not cheap courier or want it sent first instead of second or want a courier that delivers saturday mornings, then it would be reasonable to send invoice tobuyer for balance but if you make mistake you cover it that's the ay it works

i would email them back saying i paid bill as quoted postage that is the end do not mail or invoice me again, leave neutral/ negative feedback and if emails keep coming report to ebay,
