Just checked ebay and baby clothes (used) don't seem to go for much (£2-4 for a Ralph Lauren polo dress). Other items don't sell at all (Next, Zara etc).

Having a sort out of dd's baby clothes - is it better to go for a car boot sale / ebay? For £2 for something I paid £30 odd for seems better to just give it to charity.

Out of the 2, eBay is best for designer, top high street brands. People who frequent car boot sales will not pay top end prices, believe me! Car boots are for 50p stuff.

Perhaps you should try designer second hand children's clothing shops which usually command good money but of course you have a hefty agents fee.

To be honest, it's swings and roundabouts.

Bundles of baby stuff sell well on ebay.

I sell 'designer' stuff in good condition as individual pieces (if I can be bothered) and make up bundles of 5-10 same sized items too.

If you do a bundle of all designer stuff, that tends to sell well too.

Keep post as low as possible - you think you're just getting £4 for a RL dress, but your buyer is paying £7 inc postage (assuming you are charging £3) so it makes a huge difference. Combining postage can help too.

I agree car boots are for 50p prices.

Thanks both - think I will try some bundles out and see how that goes. Yes, that's the problem with ebay as sellers we don't make all that much (p&p and ebay and paypal fees) but as a buyer the p&p is just part of the item cost.

with ebay you need to keep P&P down, most people even for designer are only going to pay about £5-7 including postage for other iems about £3, so if you charge me 1st class recorded at £3.50 instead of second class at £2.20 I spend the same you just end up with £1.30 less in your purse, remeber most baby clothes are light and can be squashed flat to large letter suize
