hello,

i bought a pram from ebay and have recieved it today and feel it was not as described. i asked about the wheels as i know that they normally wear badly on these prams. seller replied saying that there was no wear as it was only used a few times. however i got the parcel today and the rear wheels are worn.

i contacted the seller saying i felt not as described and they have said they don't accept returns! what do i do now, can't afford to buy new wheels too so would not have bid otherwise. :(

please help!

Open a "not as described" case and state that you wish to return the item for a refund.
You will need to return it using a tracked method but will get your money back this way.
Take photos of the worn wheels before returning so you have a record of what they looked like in case you need some extra evidence. You probably won't need them but it's worth doing just in case.

Don't worry about the seller saying they don't accept returns - they won't have much choice if you use "not as described" as your reason.

thank you, do i open it now or or wait and see if they change their mind? have never had this happen before and it's really streesing me out! :(

Do it straight away - the sooner you open the case, the sooner you can get refunded.
Don't worry if the seller says no refunds and if they send you messages simply reply to each by stating that you would like to return the pram for a refund.
Ebay will ask you to return it and as I have said you must do so via a tracked method.
It's quite straightforward really, follow Ebay's instructions and you won't go wrong. The key is using the "Not as described" case.

thank you for replying. i have opened the case and just got a message saying i said no refunds, you should have read that on the listing! gutted as this is the first time something like this has happened and i've been using it for years. suppose there's always someone...:(

It doesn't matter that the seller doesn't take returns the fact is they mis-described the pushchair when you specifically asked about wheel wear. I think you have to wait a few days, but esculate your case asap. Ebay will want you to return the pushchair trackable, but they will refund you.

Out of interest what pushchair is it?

80sbabe · 27/05/2012 01:01

nicm just ignore the seller saying that they don't do refunds, just plough ahead with the case - escalate it at the first available date you can and return it tracked.
The seller will learn very quickly that they do have to refund your money and accept the return.
I appreciate that it's not a nice position for you to be in but stick with it, keep to the rules and you'll be fine Smile

thanks, so should i not reply to her again then as she just keeps saying no refunds or should i just keep replying with i would like to return for a full refund as not as described? Confused

tutu it's a maclaren and i know from a friend's buggy that her rear wheels became very worn that is why i asked specifically.

Any further developements nicm?

nicm · 29/05/2012 21:41

hi, no she's point blank refusing! there are so many things wrong with it(it smells really bad, frame is warped where the carry handle has been on too tight, the wheels are worn...), it's awful, but i only asked about the wheels, fabric and handles so didn't feel i could complain about the other things.

i haven't contacted her again, just going to wait until i can pass it to customer service. i have to wait until next week to do that i think, unless you know any different? i've had to wash all the stuff that was in the car boot with it and they still smell funny! have them hanging on the line so hope by tomorrow it will be gone. Confused

I'm not sure how. long it is before you can escalte he case. Just hang in there, it will take a little while, but you will get your money back. And then you can enjoy leaving the well deserved negative feedback.

Again, just out of interest how much did you pay for it? Not that it makes and difference. I'm just wondering if the seller thinks you got value for money IYSWIM.

nicm · 30/05/2012 09:54

I know, not sure what to leave on the feedback!? I paid 20 pounds for it. Seriously, if I was giving it to a charity shop I'd have to scrub it, shocking! I'm gutted too as I was looking forward to getting my big pram sold on the free bin at the weekend. oh well...do you think I should keep asking for a refund or just wait on ebay to sort it out?

Thanks :)

Wait for ebay to sort it out, not that it matters how much you paid, but I was thinking that if you'd won it for 99p that might explain why the seller wasn't being so helpful.

You will get your refund, the seller is being difficult, I would message them again asking for a full refund and if they won't give it then you have no choice but to escalte the case.

nicm · 03/06/2012 22:11

Thanks for your help, I just got a full refund including p & p. the email didn't ask me to send it back, is this normal? Confused

:)

I guess you got an eBay no fault refund. Make sure you leave appropriate feedback and low stars if you want them to count.
