I have a terrible feeling about this! It's one of my first listings and people have clearly misunderstood what I was selling. I am guessing the buyer is going to pull out in some way - what do I do?

Maybe you cant get them anywhere else or do maxi cosi sell them for a silly price?

molschambers · 20/05/2012 16:37

I think it's clear enough.

I once sold a used car seat raincover for more than they cost to buy new.

One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that...

TessTosterone · 20/05/2012 16:37

Interestingly it Appears that if you sel all the bits of the car seat separately it's worth a lot more than as a whole!

turnigitonitshead · 20/05/2012 16:38

I think the listing is very clear.

NorbertDentressangle · 20/05/2012 16:39

The listing is pretty clear so I guess its just a case of a couple of people who both want it bidding against each other, upping the price.

DP had a crazy bidding war over a broken, spares or repair power tool once.

When the guy came to pick it up DP said to him "you do realise its broken don't you?" and the guy confirmed that he did and was more than happy with the price Confused

MrsBranestawm · 20/05/2012 16:41

The winning bidder placed the first bid and there have been four other bidders between start and finish. Maybe he/she really wanted the thing. Your photo is very clear. They bid. They won. Post the thing to them.

DanceToTheIslandBeat · 20/05/2012 16:47

Ok, thanks, I was worried it maybe was misleading or something as it seems a bonkers price to pay for something I found hanging around in the house! Thank you for looking and putting my mind at rest!

The buyer hasn't paid though, so maybe he'll realise his mistake and try to pull out yet!

There are bin ones for £12.99 +£1.99 so yours was cheaper than that.

DanceToTheIslandBeat · 20/05/2012 19:48

He's paid!?!

Kind of makes up for the stuff I'm virtually giving away I suppose.

Is eBay always this weird?!

OP posts:
RandomMess · 20/05/2012 19:50

Yes it is - the spare parts for car seats etc from the manufacturer are extortionate and sometimes you can't get the correct colour etc.

LynetteScavo · 20/05/2012 19:52

Ebay is weird.

Fact.

carrotsandcelery · 20/05/2012 19:52

Ebay is ALWAYS this wierd. I never chuck anything out now before trying it on ebay first. Beautiful things sometimes don't sell and strange bits and bobs go for a small fortune!

Ebay is a starnge old place. I run my business on ebay and have a shop, I only sell brand new items on a buy it now basis. I also have another ebay account which is my personal account where I sell similar items second hand but on bids. I cant belive people who will bid way over for second hand items when they can buy them cheaper brand new. I have sold something on bids before second hand for £35 and sell exactly the same item brand new in my shop for £28 Confused

excellent!

i bought a pashley tricycle with child seats on ebay for £200 a few years ago.
used it a bit (but not as much as I ought to have done) left it in the shed for months and then sold it recently for £361!!!!

i nearly fell over when I saw what it had gone for

NorbertDentressangle · 20/05/2012 20:07

Angel -I've noticed that people do that too.

The DC wanted a particular Wii game so I looked at ebay. Auctions with time still to run had bids in the £18-£22 (+ P&P) range. There was one listed with a Buy It Now price of £18 with free p&p. No brainer really.

RachelHRD · 22/05/2012 23:16

You can only buy these I think as part of a new set of covers. I learnt this to my detriment when we lost misplaced the head hugger cushion for our Maxi Cosi and I ended up having to buy a whole new set of covers for DD to use it (was DS's)!!
We found the bloody thing about a month later arrghh!!
