sold an expensive electrical item. in perfect working order, all bits with it, perfectly packaged. now buyer messages saying it doesn't work and bits are missing.

which is bollocks.

they want to return it. they are going to send a broken one back, aren't they?

I had a similar thing, sold a fully working desktop computer and shipped it, I got an email saying all they had received was an empty box.

Contact eBay, they will advise you.

What happened, fanjo?

oh I hate crooks like this! Try to get as much evidence as you can - ask for photos of the packaging, the broken item etc. Make sure you tell the buyer that you are in contact with Ebay as well.

fengirl1 · 19/05/2012 09:42

Ask them to also include a picture of the serial number - these are of course unique and might just be enough to make them think again if they think you have a record of it.

TheMonster · 19/05/2012 09:43

What was it, btw?

Methe · 19/05/2012 09:46

You could say that they need to send it back so you can check its the one you sent by checking the micro dots/uv security mark you had out on it.

I contacted parcel force as obviously the item was weighed before I sent it and they sent a invoice with the weightof the parcel which was clearly not an empty box!

I scanned it and emailed it to the buyer and told him next time he tried to scam someone to be a bit more clever about it.
Then I reported him to eBay and left feedback on him as well, warning people.

I never heard from him after that!

Good for you. Sometimes sellers have no back up or support when things like this happen. X

ladyinthelibrary · 19/05/2012 12:35

Did you put up a pic of your item - so you can see the parts that buyer says are missing? MIght help in your defence....

HalleLouja · 19/05/2012 12:38

I am not selling electrical goods on ebay as I had some bad experiences. All at the same time.

AkhalTeke · 19/05/2012 13:50

Yes, Halle, I did.

have sent detailed message saying where to find the bits / what i think they might be doing wrong, no response yet. am praying they are just a numpty, not a scammer, and they'll get it working
