Potential buyer has asked for a 'buy it now' price - what do I do?

I have a small item up for auction, with a starting price of £2.50. It's only been up for 1 day and has a watcher on it. This morning I've had a message asking me for a buy it now price - what should I do? I've only sold things by auction before.

Having looked for info on eBay, they advise against ending items soon, so is this against their policy? (thats not clear, or i cant find the right bit of info) If it's ok to do, what price should I ask for, or should I just make the buyer bud, but risk losing him?

TIA

Bid, even. Budding for items would be odd"

Adding a buy it now is not the same as ending the auction early - so don't worry about the policy bit, it is not a problem.

If it were me I would email the other person and ask what their best offer would be. Then decide if you want to sell it for that amount. If you do, then simply add a buy it now price to your auction. Be aware that ebay charges a bit more for buy it nows though (I think).

Thank you, and for the tip on fees. A happy conclusion as the buyer offered more than I expected!
