What to do? I have 99.99% positive feeback. I have just sold a pair of second hand boys geox trainers (copst £43) worn for a month - they normally sell £10 + minimum (mine got only £4.99 start bid). They are in good condition but not as new. They are typical second hand shoes. I took photos of soles etc and even of an area where the piping on trainer was getting fluffy. I had 7 photos of the shoes advertised as: "FANTASTIC TRAINERS THAT LOOK GREAT ON. GOOD CONDITION. The side thread is beginning to get a little fluffy (see photos) but these have not been worn very much (see photos of soles) and have lots of wear left in them" I do not advertise returns and it cost me more than posage paid to send them. Just got this from buyer:
" I have received the trainers today thankyou but I am afraid to say they were not the shoes I were expecting to receive. The shoes look like they have been very well worn but the pictures do not show this entirely plus they have a deep tread. The insides have holes from wear and the insoles are stained with something that looks like mould on their hard surface and are really out of shape. But accept this may not have been noticed before listing item. Please get in touch and let me know how we can revise this".
I seriously don't know what the buyer is going on about (what is a deep tread?), mould on surface?? (dirt maybe from floor but mould?) but I am kind of stuffed aren't I. I took 7 photos! What shoud I do ? Ask for them to be sent back and refund the cost - just refund it anyway? I think this persons expectations are v high as I would not have sold them if they were not in good second hand condition. Puts me off even trying to sell on ebay! Thanks v much

Ask them to return and then refund in full is my advice - not worth going to dispute or getting angry with each other. Do not refund without return - and if they are in that bad a condition you should really refund the return postage costs too.

No idea what deap tread means?

I think e bay say you must pay return postage. I've had this happen to me and ended up offering a 50% refund and let them keep the item. The cost of return postage has not been much less so just easier this way. I do think people try it on though.

eBay cannot force you to pay return postage, but a good seller will pay it if the item is not as described.
