I'd give most things a go - start with a free listing weekend (like this one) and see how you get on. If no tluck then freecycle.

I'm not very experienced but make sure that you have good photos, clear descriptions and be as accurate as you can with your p+p.

Thanks so far I have the 2 items above and about to add pushchair and baby rucksack carrier thing but pretty much planning on a really good clear out
Tried selling some clothes a while back but they didn't get above their listing price Sad

I've got 3 pushchairs, a cot, a crib and loads of other stuffon atm.

I think if the aim is just to get rid of things then set your starting prices low and see how you go.

I started one pushchair at £5. It ends tonight and is up to £7 so far but if somebody can get some use from it, we get a few £'s and it doesn't get put in the skip then I'm happy with that.

Thanks
Weirdly we have 7 watchers now on our old garden shed Grin

Why not ebay the large and expensive items and do a car boot with the rest?

Or if you can't face getting up so early, then take a photo of the car boot stuff, list it on eBay as "Car Boot Job Lot" or similar and other car booters will pay you for it.

MrsSnaplegs · 16/04/2012 06:37

Well we have watchers on all but the travel system and bids on the garden shed so I must have done something right this time Grin will let you know how we get on

Use Advanced search on Ebay, click the "completed listings" box & see how much if anything your items have sold for recently. Plenty of listings but No sales or very low final values you may as well take to charity shop.

MrsSnaplegs · 18/04/2012 18:56

Well 3 items gone so far
Shed £41
Travel system £5 Sad
Microwave rice cooker £10.50Grin
Another 2 big items tomorrow so fingers crossed then going for a hunt around the house for more stuff Wink

It all counts though and is more than if you'd freecycled or taken it all to a charity shop.

Keep at it.

Well DH has decided he wants rid of about 200 old DVDs as we never watch them (still another 200 odd on the shelves Blush)
I have looked at music magpie but the only give 30p each for most and their T&C seem to indicate they'll give any reason not to pay up an will keep the items even if they don't pay you Angry
I think I am going to try bulk selling these on eBay - I have put 2 sets on as a tester
I think my only other option is to advertise them in the local paper for a car booter as a bulk buy
Its only when you try and sell stuff like this on you realise how much money you've wasted on "stuff"

I tend to eBay the better stuff, and only Freecycle (or Car Boot) things that really are past their prime. It is always astonishing what sells (and depressing at what doesn't).

BornSicky · 22/04/2012 18:14

i've found baby and children's clothes (if displayed nicely) sell for much more at car boots than on ebay. it's miserable selling a bag of nearly new next baby clothes for £2 on ebay, when you can get £1 (at least) per item for the same at a car boot.

same with a few other postal items, as the postage prices make it uneconomic to buy and post sometimes.
