I have bought a number of items off the ebay and normally all goes smoothly, however, this time it did not. The item I bought arrived faulty (it is a mobile phone housing - a replacement for my existing one - but the door where the sim goes was all bent although the case itself seems unused) and in addition the seller stated it to be genuine, where it was clearly not (the font on the keys was ever so slightly different thickness and size, I own a couple of these phones and it did not look genuine).
Anyway, I decided to return for the full refund as I did trust to have a proper replacement. Contacted the seller, he refused saying it is "genuine" and ignoring the fact that the door was bent. I opened the case on ebay. They sent me the following:
"Hello bemybebe,
We've informed the seller that the item wasn't as described.
The seller has offered you a full refund for the purchase price plus original postage & packaging, if you return the item. To get your refund, post the item back to the seller. You will need to cover the cost of returning the item. Make sure you send the item by 04 Apr, 2012.
Refund information:
Once the item is delivered to the seller, you will receive a full refund of £7.99. The refund will include the purchase price plus original postage & packaging.
You can view the details of this case and learn what you need to do to send the item back, in the Resolution Centre."
As it was low value item and nobody was going to refund me the "tracked" postage, I sent it 2nd class. The item was sent on the 2 April (so before the deadline), but I did not check in the Resolution Centre that the postage needs to be trackable. Just found out now. Does it mean that I will definitely not get my money back?? I don't care about the 8GBP as such, I am just so bitter that there are sellers-liars on ebay and I just do not want to buy anything off it going forward. Feedback on the seller was 97% positive btw (3% claiming their items did not work or not genuine and they had difficulties with the seller)...
