What is it with non paying bidders??

MrsLovely · 24/03/2012 07:54

Sold 8 items, 5 days later I have 4 non paying bidders!!

Who are these people? Why don't they pay? It happened to me last time I listed some stuff too, yet before this I had never encountered it!!

Off to send them a gentle reminder before opening a non paying dispute...again...

I feel your pain . I think it started happening when they changed it so that sellers couldn't leave negative feedback.

amistillsexy · 24/03/2012 07:58

Shock I'm usually so excited after winning a sniping bidding war I want my stuff to jump out of the screen and into my arms! I always just go straight to Pay Now and go through PayPal.

Do you think they bid on so many items they lose track of what they've bought?

By the way, is there a time limit on how long you have to wait until relisting?

amistillsexy · 24/03/2012 08:00

Sorry, Mrs Lovely, meant to say also how Angry I would be! I've only sold a few items, but I'm still waiting for feedback on a couple and that's annoying enough!

Hope you get it sorted soon

MrsLovely · 24/03/2012 08:01

Good question, I don't know if there is a time limit, I waited about 3 weeks before relisting last time so you certainly don't have to do it immediately.

£68 I'm still owed!!!

Yes yes and no one leaves feedback anymore !!

And they won't let you list used nappies!!

OP posts:
amistillsexy · 24/03/2012 08:11

I've hoarded saved a huge boxful of nappies.

I couldn't get rid of them at first Blush but I think I could give them a good boil and get them on th eline this Spring, then see if anyone does want them. Won't be going to Ebay though, obvs!

It's so annoying not to get feedback. I mean, how hard can it be?

mrs, I was watching a purse recently and it sold for much more than I'd have paid (bought a new one in TKMaxx for less!). It was relisted almost immediately and sold again, yesterday, for a more reasonable price.

I wondered if the first time, the winner had not paid. It was relisted within the week, though. I found it a bit odd.

MrsLovely · 24/03/2012 08:14

amstillsexy where are you thinking of selling your nappies? I tried the ads in our local paper but no luck there, I don't really live in a washable nappies kind of area!

I don't know who these people are either! You can open a dispute after a week and then it's a week inform there I think.

It always seems to be the last minute bidders who do this.

Hate eBay.

amistillsexy · 24/03/2012 08:21

Mrs, there is a real nappy 'emporium' in the next town. It's been there a couple of years and is doing well, so I think there will be a market for them there.

I'm thinking of putting an ad in the local health centre but probably won't get round to it

IllegitimateGruffaloChild · 24/03/2012 08:23

Yep - fed up of Ebay too. Loads of people haven't left feedback. I wonder if I'm going to get a whole heap of negatives after the 90day period is coming to an end.

I've had so many idiots with varying degrees of stupidly bidding on my items it has really put me off.

MrsLovely · 24/03/2012 08:25

I was just moaning explaining to DP how fed up I am with ebay, but the trouble is I don't know where else to easily get rid of my old tat things I don't need anymore!

5 days isn't that long, I wouldn't despair yet. I mean, they should pay by now, but it doesn't mean they won't pay (yet).
I mostly don't leave feedback: it's too complicated as a buyer & I want to see what buyers will say first when I'm the seller.

Am also trying to flog nappies, good tip about local ads!

sarahtigh · 24/03/2012 14:42

you can open a non paying dispute exactly 4 days to the minute after sale and then if not paid close it on 8th day and relist

personally if not paid on 3rd day i send an invoice, then on 5th send an email if no replies would then open case on 7th day

advice send them all an invoice now saying "all packed and ready to go; will be posted monday if payment received by 9pm sunday" and then open cases monday morning for any remaining non payers

no feedback means nothing if something is wrong you will know soon enough, if they dont receive or are unhappy with item they will be in touch pretty quick ..... recommend the "no feedback is good feedback mentality" also you can not block leave feedback unless business though I do copy and paste the same sentence every time

" thanks for prompt payment good ebayer recommended"

or if buying

"arrived safely as described good ebayer recommended"

feedback is optional, I don't go online to give asda feedback despite their invitation to do so and offer of ebtry to £1000 free draw

MrsLovely · 24/03/2012 16:23

That's good advice sarah, I sent an email today asking them to pay by the end of today, one has but the others haven't yet so will open a dispute on Monday.

The most annoying thing is one of the items was a pair of jeans that went for loads more than I anticipated (see other over excited thread here ), I bloody knew the woman who bid was drunk when she placed that last bid! I was expecting her to ask to have the bid retracted but she's obviously going down the ignore it and it will go away route.

if she does not pay up go for second chance offer which will be only 50p £1 lower and saves relisting fees
