I have listed for sale my 8 yr old leisure range oven, now on its third time around.
The first time it sold to a lady who didn't respond to me until 6 days after it had ended, saying she didnt think she could pick it up from me, turns out she was in dublin im in liverpool, god knows how she thought she would get it home!!

anyway listed it again following week as no-one responded to 2nd chance offers, this time buyer won it but couldnt collect it until late march - this was back in feb! i said no, sent numerous 2nd chance offers, not 1 person even sent me an email saying thanks but no thanks!

I listed it again this past week, monday i recieved an email asking for a quick sale he would give me £200 (At this point im desperate to get rid so said yes), then next day he sends email saying he had been quoted £200 to get the part id mentioned it needed. i told him no it wasnt (were in the same area so he rang up the man i had out to look at it to confirm what needed fixing and how much it would be).

then a day later i get an email pretending to be from him saying ok i do like the oven, what is your best price i know my mrs said she'd pay £200 but thats a bit steep.

so since i replied and said my best price is the price i have given you as there are other people who offered the same he just got in there first, that was yesterday morning and since then not heard a word from him! so much for quick sale, he sounds like a timewaster and ive blocked him from bidding anyway, is it time to just give this thing away for free? i really need rid of it as its in my living room at the moment.

Why not go for a locally-based sales site like Gumtree rather than ebay?

vix1980 · 09/03/2012 09:30

Hi, tried gumtree too, has lots of people watching and looking at it but nobody seems to buy it, ive checked others out on ebay and they all sell for around the £250 mark, i think if its not gone by next weekend ill have the council come and collect it instead of having to squeeze past it everytime we want to get into the kitchen!

Don't get it collected by the council. List it on either Freegle or Freecycle if no-one is buying it- though if it came to that, I'd just be tempted to drop my price by £50 for a quick sale.

Well luckily for me the last guy has just rung to say sorry he hadn't got in touch as his wife had been ill, hes coming tomorrow morning to collect it, yey! can finally get the rest of my house decorated with the money hes paying for it!

Did you open non paying bidder cases for the other non payers - if not, do it now to get your fees back.

also don't take paypal if he is collecting it - cash only to protect yourself.
