I sold a jumper advertised as used but in excellent condition worn about 5 times which is true. It was a next jumper and in my opinion in excellent condition I had used a bobble brush on it.
I posted it yesterday as a second class large letter to somewhere 200 miles away.
This morning I got a message saying they weren't happy with the condition and that it had bobbles all over it. So I replyed and said the item was advertised as used (cost 50p) but if they werent happy they could return it at their own cost and I would issue a refund for the original amount plus their orignial postage. This is despite me advertising it as returns not accepted.
I have now had a snotty message saying they don't see why they should pay to return it.
I get the feeling they want me to refund it and leave it with them meaning they get a free item. Also part of me is wondering if they have actually even received it yet but are just trying it on regardless of actually seeing the item. Does this sort of thing happen?

I have now said I will refund her postage to return it to me but I am convinced she just wants me to refund and leave it with her. She didn't ask for a refund or return in her original complaint, just said that she wasn't happy with the condition. I wish I hadn't already left her feedback.

I think the key is in the word "excellent". I would expect that to mean that it could pass for new, not having had bobbles removed (with some still remaining).

Sorry but I think your buyer may have a point, regardless of only paying 50p for it, it wasn't as advertised. We're always super careful with descriptions and close-up photos for exactly that reason - someone else's standard of 'VGC' or 'as new' may be very different from yours.

I agree something in excellent condition shouldn't require bobbles removing so I think you're description was not accurate. You could offer her a partial refund and she could keep the item.

Ah ok, I will take note for the future and take the hit.
Many thanks
