1st negative feedback :(

My daughter sold a pair of shoes along with a number of other items. Winning bidder paid £1.70 and has left negative feedback without giving me a chance to rectify the situation.
I am gutted, I understand she was disappointed but if she had contacted me I would have offered a full refund.

email them and ask them to return for a refund? was the feedback justified, will the buyer change it? You can leave a follow up, just be calm saying full refund will be given, wish you had contacted me first, or something like that

it is only a red dot on a website, don't worry about it.

it's a shame when buyers don't give the seller a chance like this; make sure your daughter comments on the feedback . It's annoying but 1 neg won't put future buyers off esp when your daughter puts a follow up remark underneath.

I got called a "nasty piece of work" because I refused to refund return postage for an item which they had changed their mind about! I remained calm and polite in my follow up despite wanting to call her "forty shades of shite" as dh helpfully suggested :o

REspond factually and politely to the negative. Mention that there was no corresepondance and that if the buyer had contacted you you would have arranged a refund.

I have had this a couple of times on amazon when people hadn't read the description and my sales actually went up for a while afterwards.

There is also a one-neg club on the ebay forums so you could go there for a laugh.

It turns out I had mistakenly clicked a wrong button when listing but had put a full description in the description box. I have emailed to explain what happened.
Don't have anything left to sell now so won't be on there for a while :). Thanks for the replies you have helped me calm down.

oh well, maybe your buyer will amend their feedback. :)

It's possible to mutually withdraw feedback, no? I'd look into that, anyway, if you offered a full refund.

Some people are eejits & dont' get Ebay culture at all, that's why I don't take the odd neg f/back seriously.

Yes it is, seller needs to send a request to the buyer. But you only get so many offers you can make per year I think so worth discussing with buyer first before making request for revision.
