Same person bought 2 things - no problem but advice required

I listed some things and offered the opportunity of combined postage. Same person bid and purchased 2 of my items and has paid but didn't email to request a combined postage so has paid for the whole lot. What do I do? I suppose my options are to upgrade to better posting with both in one packet or contact to offer a refund, although I stress they have not contacted me for this.

What should I do? I don't really want to send 2 things in 2 different parcels to the same address, it seems bonkers!

I would put them in one parcel and then make a partial refund to them for the reduction in postage.

PoohBearsHole · 20/02/2012 09:34

Ooh, didn't know I could do that - can it be done via paypal? If so I will do that as wouldn't you agree it is bonkers to send 2 different parcels? I would prefer to get everything in one go!

Can be done via paypal :) I did it when I sold some things and felt bad that I had overcharged by about £1.50 due to it being a large packet rather than parcel and came and here and felt bad at not charging exact postage etc so refunded a small bit. In your case I would definitely send in one parcel.

Hi -I do partial refunds on paypal. Go into the transaction and scroll down - there is a link to issue refund and this lets you manually put in the amount to refund and write an explantion.

I would contact buyer first, I once did this and got told off by the buyer who for reasons unknown wanted them sending seperately to the same address.

Now I always check first, though everyone else has been pleased.

Good idea wildthing I will contact and ask, and will also refund some of the difference to her. I think I will feel mega guilt if I send in one parcel and she wanted two or the other way around. This ebay thang is a real minefield. I bet I do it and then something goes wrong..................

Right, have offered a variety of options to the buyer including no refund but upgrading to one package and next day delivery which is actually a fab deal for one parcel, especially as the buyer chose 2nd class originally for both. do you think that sounds fair? The cost of sending it out snd is only 30p less than the buyer has already paid for sending out 2 options so I don't believe it to be that much of a rip off or am I deluded?

Refund and issue revised invoice grouping items together with revised postage

That why you have it clear that you are sending both items in packet.

If you had a paypal dispute you would only have one proof of postage between two items. Send recorded too.

fergoose · 20/02/2012 16:40

yes, if you don't send combined invoice, then you would have to send 2 items separately in 2 parcels, so I would refund and reinvoice and then you can send together.

PoohBearsHole · 20/02/2012 20:22

Oh piss. Contacted buyer and they have said one package Sad. Would the messages between the two of us be evidential? Am sending snd so will be tracked and signed for.

Nope. Just tell them you now realise you need to invoice together. Refund and do revised invoice - an honest buyer will understand.
