Have put something on at auction- i am not that bothered about price I get but it is something that is quite pricey new (£30). Have had email from one of bidders saying she is desperate for item and would I consider taking an offer ,sending early.

I don't have to do this (obviously) I assume and isn't it also against rules to end auction and sell like this?

I don't particularly want to end auction (not least as not actually at home so can't send item as am away from home til auction ends). Is best course just to ignore email?

Just politely reply "Sorry, I am letting the auction run to the end. Thanks for your enquiry."

no it isn't against the rules - you can end at any time to the highest bidder, but it is up to you if you want to do so.

I get this a LOT,think they are chancers or dealers maybe. When I was very very new I had something I knew was worth about 100 pounds at least and someone sent me an message saying they will come round with the money and pick it up in the morning.I panicked, had I done something wrong? No it was someone who recognised that I was new to the game and thought they could get away with it.I think the bidding had reached about 6 pounds at that time. Most ebayers are lovely but you do have to be on your toes, you live and learn hey
