Ladies (and gents), can you help me?

I'm new to ebay, and took advantage of the free listing last weekend to sell a whole load of DVDs. Some have sold, some haven't (which I guess is normal), and now I've some questions.

4 (out of 5) buyers have paid (via paypal) - I assume this means I can send the items straight away, and given them their positive feedback. There's no reason to wait, is there?

1 buyer hasn't paid (auction ended about 24h ago). I emailed (via ebay) this morning to ask them to pay today, and that I would post the parcel tomorrow. How long should I wait for payment, and what should I do if it doesn't appear?

1 buyer bought two separately listed items. This means they've paid the postage fee twice. Should I send two parcels, or is it ok to send them together? Do I need to refund any postage & packing?

Finally - any tips on the best / most cost effective way to send items - in general, as well as DVD box sets....

Thankyou all...(in advance) :)

Yes you can send the items that have been paid for through paypal. as long as the money is showing in your paypal account (ie is not an echeque).

I usually wait a week, unless stated otherwise in my t+c.

It would be kind to send them as one parcel and refund the extra money

Always get a certificate of posting if not sending recorder. Heavier items are best to go Standard Parcels

HTH :)

Thanks for your help....

Parcels all wrapped up, and ready to take to the post office tomorrow. I'm finding this strangely exciting, and think I could get addicted :o

No problem, it's a great way to make extra money just make sure you put as much info in the write up as possible to minimise stupid angry buyers!

I agree with Mutt.

And recorded only covers you up to £46, so anything worth more than that needs to be special or courier with adequate insurance.

Thanks everyone.

Too late for the first items, so I have my fingers crossed all works out ok.

Do you generally pay extra for recorded delivery for low value items? I guess there is a trad off between paying the extra, and having the reassurance you are protected if things go wrong....

One new question.... A buyer paid me today via paypal, but has messaged me on ebay asking me to post the item to a different address. Same county, but completely different name & address. I can't find anything on the ebay site to tell me is this is ok or not, so thought I would ask you all. Is this a warning sign, or am I overly suspicious?

no don't post to an alternative address. You will need to refund them, then they need to add it to paypal as a gift address, then pay you again choosing that gift address at checkout.

I normally post stuff over a tenner recorded, and maybe the gift address one too :)

Thanks.... I thought this would probably be a bit of a warning sign. The buyer has good feedback (+200), so is probably ok, but I just want to be sure...
