Postage - Royal Mail not working

I've just sold a pair of shoes to someone in Greece. Am a bit Angry as the listing clearly said "please ask for postage costs if you want the item sent abroad" and she didn't. Anyway, now I don't know what postage to invoice her for as the Royal Mail price finder I usually use isn't working.

Any ideas?

It is to send a shoe box with winter ankle boots from London - Greece the cheapest way possible.

TIA

How heavy? Does she care how quickly she gets 'em?

monkeysmama · 19/12/2011 17:16

I'm inclined to think she hasn't a choice. They were listed to be sent 2nd class. I don't know how heavy they are. I am not very good at guessing weight.

you will also need to tighten your settings so buyers from abroad are unable to bid

I've never had a problem before. I am happy to send abroad but if they check postage first I can get it weighed, work out postage & tell them a price. She didn't check so am doing it last minute to be able to invoice her and the royal mail on line thing isn't working for me to get an average price.

Have no idea how much it'd be. £10?

You can download the price list here and you should be able to work out how much it'll cost from there.

fergoose · 19/12/2011 17:44

you need the weight really to work out how much to charge - I don't think it will cost as much as £10 though

Thank you very much - I will have a look now.

How do you figure out what to charge for p+p if you don't have scales at home to weigh things?
I will weigh a similar pair of my own shoes & tell you what they weigh, if that helps. Need to know what sort of shoes they are.

I think 5-8 quid will be reasonable, but depends what sort of shoes.

monkeysmama · 19/12/2011 18:34

On the royal mail site they give you an idea - ie a pair of jeans weighs x and I work it out like that. I have scales so will weigh. Have communicated with buyer now so am happier. Thanks everyone.

An average pair of shoes here, would post for under £3.25. Airmail small packages is not very different usually, so if you quote a fiver you'd be fine.
