Buyer has sent me a message saying 'item not as described'....they were a pair of satin shoes, very pretty very festive and in good condition (worn once)....I sponged the outside prior to photographing and am absolutely sure they were in excellent condition when they left me - in fact ds had some girlfriends in and they were all gushing about these shoes and one offered to buy them herself for £10, unfortunately they were already listed and so I declined ......anyway they sold and the buyer has sent me this message ........I dont want to refund as I know they were in good condition however she has stated she expected them to be 'excellent' I never described them as excellent just used in good condition,so I feel her expectations were rather high.

The shoes cost me £35 and she bought them for £1.64 (with packaging at £3),I dont want to spoil someones 'bargain' but equally I dont want to be ripped off even for £5 .....Ive never had a complaint before in fact Ive often been told that the items were better than described etc etc.

If I were you I would tell her to return them at her expense in the condition in which they were received and you will refund - then sell to friend for £10.

Could she have bought them for an event, worn them, and now wants to return them I wonder?

I did wonder that Hmm I checked her feedback and it would appear shes quite a large lady and these shoes are delicate and slim heeled so perhaps they are more unsuitable than not as described ......I would have given them to the ds girlfriend but shes only 15 and they arent really appropriate plus now theyve been with someone else who potentially could have worn them.

I messaged her back to say I was surprised she wasnt happy and if she wants to send me a photo of what shes not happy with then Id willingly compare her pic and mine- its just I am absolutely sure they were in great condition when I sent them.

all you can do really is ask her to return for a refund - if she opens a dispute that is what she will be told to do.

Will I have to pay both sets of postage? the postal to her refund, the purchase price and the return postage?

Pretty sure you don't need to refund postage - certainly not for her returning them to you.

if she opens a dispute she will have to pay return postage costs but will get a full refund of her original payment plus postage

If they are not as described you should refund her return postage costs too
