Fake?

I recently bought a jumper from ebay, and I am fairly sure that it's a fake. I only paid a small amount for it, and I like it so am not bothered about sending it back or anything. As soon as I saw the label I was a bit Confused as there was stitching on it, where on any shop bought items of the same brand that I have, don't have that.

Haven't left feedback yet but not sure I want to give positive without checking it out. Is it worth looking into or just leave it?

whatever you do you should really email the seller first - they could be innocent so give them a chance before you leave feedback

As for verifying it is fake, could you take it to a shop to check

Did they claim it was genuine?

Have you contacted the seller - that would be my first action. Then if no joy open a case. I don't think £59 is a small price for anything, so I would take action if I were you.

If you open a case via PayPal you have to prove it is fake, if you open the case via eBay Resolution Centre she has to prove it is genuine.

Crazyfatmamma · 08/12/2011 13:18

Do you mean that the seller actually stated that they purchased the item for £59!!! Because then either it is actually a genuine item which appears unlikely if you have compared it to other items of the same make that you have or the seller is being deliberately misleading as noone knowingly buys a fake top for nearly 60 quid- however this is what she states. Unless she herself has been ripped off in the past too!!

CarpetCrawlers · 08/12/2011 22:54

Yes, I C&P'd the description above. What made me a bit suspicious was that the label had a machine price sticker on it, like you would get on a packet of sugar in a corner shop. Or a market stall, I suppose.

I only paid a couple of quid for it, so as I say not that bothered but still find it annoying as she sells others stuff by 'brand' names and some of it goes for a lot more.
