Collection only on small, cheap item...

Accidentally bought something which was collection only- it was a really small item, so didn't think to check. I was the only bidder. I am a seasoned ebayer and can't believe I missed it. Gah.

Completely my mistake, so have emailed seller asking what they would like me to do and offering to pay for relisting and inconvenience. They have been very good about it, and have offered to box the item if I want to arrange a courier- the thing is, I have never arranged a courier for something so small... Any recommendations for good cheap couriers?

The item was only £15, so don't want to pay a fortune in courier fees- is it worth doing this at all, or should I just give the item up and pay for seller's inconvenience?

Need more details. Value of item, weight of item, how easily could you source it elsewhere, what would you need to pay to compensate them, why can't they send it using Royal Mail?

Ok, item consists of a doll, a plastic car and a plastic horse. All hollow plastic, so not heavy.

I have asked if they will consider sending it via Royal mail; they are getting back to me.

£15 is a fair price, but the items are not so valuable that I want to spend loads on a courier.

is it worth asking them if they would send collect plus or www.senditnow.com has had good reports

they can just drop off then no need for waiting for courier and they are both reasonable prices

Myhermes is a cheap courier. If it's over a kilo then they're cheaper than royal mail.

They must really dislike mildewy post office, lol. Doesn't sound like that lot will add up to over 1kg.

I've just been playing with that Hermes website and it comes out more expensive than parcel force for 2-4 kg... (5.99 versus 4.51). Confused. Maybe I'm putting in wrong options or summat. And the compensation amount per parcel is lower by 7 quid, too.

Thanks for info- they just came back to me and said that they can't get to a post office, so if I can sort a courier out for about a fiver, then I'll do that.

So- excuse my naivety, but I have only ever arranged couriers for furniture; will Parcel force collect the item? Or am I better off going with Hermes? Or senditnow? Confused

senditnow are parcelforce. they are good as offer timed pick ups too, and supply all the paperwork on pick up
