Probably naiive but have a dolls pram for sale on ebay £5 starting which I was happy to get for it as I'm only selling locally, the only bidder so far (ends tomorrow) is a toy seller with a website so probably going to buy it and make a big profit which I feel a bit miffed about. Just having a moan! bah!

Not necessarily, although by restricting yourself to local only, you are minimising your chances. Couriers are really cheap to use nationwide, and the buyer pays for the postage anyway, so perhaps in future you should offer to post.

I agree - and I apologise for mentioning them again, but i have found Connect Plus good value and you can drop off at your leisure so no need to wait for courier to turn up

I use myparcels.com and they have been very reliable so far, and you can link to your ebay account on their website too, but that site looks interesting too fergoose so I will bookmark them as well.

Senditnow.co.uk are good too, and you can drop off at post offices.

But back to original rant. Ebay is a bit of a gamble for buying and selling.

fergoose · 03/12/2011 14:34

Duvet, if you want you can cancel the bid, end the listing then relist it to include a delivery option

tethersjinglebellend · 03/12/2011 14:38

If you're happy to get £5, does it really matter who it's from? If you think it's worth more, ask for more.

Once a buyer buys it, they can do what they like with it...

Knackeredmother · 03/12/2011 16:18

Sorry to hijack but can you send bigger items with these companies? I'm listing a child's bike but not sure if I can send by a courier and how much to charge?

squeakytoy · 03/12/2011 16:47

Yep, you can send anything within reason. I have sent dining chairs, tables, etc.

If you go onto a site like any of the ones listed above, you can get a rough idea of prices by keying in the weight and dimensions. Or just have a look at other listed bikes to get a rough price. I would expect it to cost about £12 to post a kids bike with myparcels.com, so if you were to charge £15 you would be ok.

mmm that's useful to know.
