Buyer simply isn't responding to emails or sending a payment having paid the wrong amount

I can't do open an unpaid dispute since it's been 15 days after the auction already and have had to refund her to give her a chance to pay the right amount.

I've given her a last chance to pay and have stated that I'll cancel if I hear no more after day 3. Have I done the right thing? What would you advise in the future? I think I may have to gear myself up for my first negative fb.

Could you contact eBay and ask for their advice? And I may be wrong, but if the buyer doesn't respond and you cancel the sale, I can't see how you could get a negative rating from that.
I really don't know what the right answer is but wanted to bump your thread for you.

you will have to open a mutual cancellation instead then. If they don't respond you can close it and get your fees back, but they will still be able to leave feedback.

Not possible to pay the wrong amount as she would have paid via eBay checkout or via the winning confirmation email from eBay.

That is the only way of her knowing how to pay you i.e your PayPal email address, most users have different email addresses for their PayPal accounts or they should for security reasons.

You cannot open a UPI as she has techncally paid. Why not pull her contact details and ring her.

Fabbychic are you suggesting that the buyer paid the correct amount and that I got it wrong? She paid via an app and it did not add PP so she only paid the winning amount. See my other thread about it.

She's only replied once to say that she'll pay once she receives confirmation of cancelled payment. It has cleared my end, this was last week on 11th November. I've been emailing her but she doesn't respond. To be honest, I'm not bothered about her completing the transaction anymore. I'd rather just relist the damn thing and block her.

Oh, and I've already said that I couldn't open an Unpaid Item Dispute back in my OP.

I would file a mutual cancellation if I were you - if she doesn't respond you will still get your final fees back

Then definitely block and relist.

Yep, just went to do exactly that Fergoose. I just hope that she does continue to just ignore me this time so that I will get my fees back! Sigh.

Thanks Fergoose. You should have ebay as your Mastermind subject.

Ah no I shouldn't :)

I hope you get your fees back and never hear from her again.

I wonder if your buyer was hoping to get away with not paying the P&P and never had any intention of paying you the correct amount.

FabbyChic · 23/11/2011 18:07

If she paid via bank funding it will take up to 6 takes to get back to her PayPal account.

The auction ended 6th November, I refunded her as soon as she paid on the same date. It cleared on 11th November. Today is the 23rd. Is that any clearer Fabby?
