Buyer has not collected - or paid. What do I do?

Hi there

I sold a food processor on Ebay during half term and offered collection only from my home address as it's quite heavy. The listing made it clear where I live as I gave the first part of the postcode.

I sent my usual "please get in touch to arrange collection and payment" email to which the buyer said he was moving house but would be in touch. Last Thursday, he emailed to ask if he could collect on the Friday. I said fine but after 4.30 as I was working and gave him my address. He didn't show, nor has he replied to my "I'm sorry to have missed you, when you will be coming again" email.

What do I do now? I want rid of the food processor to be honest as it's taking up space. How do I go about this? Can I cancel the transaction and relist, or should I give him one last chance? Am at a loss.

Any guidance hugely appreciated. Many thanks

You might have to relist it and leave negative feedback for him. If its a Magimix I might be interested.

Guidance here :

I'm about to be in the same position myself - my first non paying bidder.

In your position I think I would open a non payment dispute, do a second chance offer or relist and leave non-positive but polite feedback (does he know where you live?) for the 'buyer' to warn other sellers. I don't think you can leave a negative as such but you can write negative comments against a positive feedback ifyswim. Also block the buyer from making future bids on your items. HTH

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback. You file a non payment dispute so that you get your final value fees back and you either relist or not your choice.

Thanks girls.

My last email to him was perhaps not as clear to him as it might have been so I have now sent him a polite but firm email saying he's got til this Friday to collect or I am cancelling the transaction.

I think generally not being able to neg buyers is a good thing but there are times when people are so painful it would be quite tempting!

Thanks for all the great advice - much appreciated Smile
