I sold an item for £200, the ebayer who bought it opened a not as described case & said it was a bit frayed in one area and wanted to return it, I said sure no problem & even offered to pay their return postage.........

They then returned it to the wrong address... In the case they opened it clearly stated the return to address but they somehow found my business address and sent it there. They sent it tracked and it says it is being returned to sender as no one cliamed it.

Buyer is now sending me irate shouty emails saying I should have collected it & now they have to return it to me again and tehy don't even have the item back yet,

AIBU? What am I supposed to do?!

They need to send it to the correct address. I'm taking it they had been given your home addreess for the return but just messed it up?

Yes, they'd been given my home address to return it to via the case but somehow found my business address which I no longer use and sent it there...

you have done nothing wrong - they should only return it to the address they are told to by eBay/paypal - it is their fault if they have used a different address to this.

That's what I thought but they are now ranting at me and I have done my best to help them, am now worried they will leave me negative f/b, I have 2000 transcations and really want to keep my f/b at 100%!

It's their mistake. but irate buyers on eBay can be a nightmare! I wonder if the buyer will be expecting you to refund the postage twice? I know there is a legal requirement for senders to refund postage for returns - but no idea if it applies when there's been a mistake like in this case.

Does anyone know how long they have to return the item? Maybe this is why they're panicking at getting shouty with me

don't forget - you could bend over backwards, refund all their postage (twice due to their error, not yours!) and still get a neg so don't be blackmailed over this if you see what I mean.

With a dispute I think it is 7 or 10 days they have to return the item I think - if you read the dispute it should tell you I think?

If they leave a neg, it is not the end of the world. You can leave a measured polite response.
