I sold a pair of skinny jeans on ebay- new with tags, which my mum and me ended up buying two pairs of. They didn't fit and couldn't take them back.
Sold on ebay for £5- that's ok considering they are worth £35.
Buyer bought on 31st, posted 1st.
2 Nov case opened on paypal. Used paypal to post.
I have no idea why a case has been opened up.
Surely it can't be lost in the post etc, as It was only a day.
My feeling is that the jeans don't fit, but she hasn't contacted me to say that anything is wrong. Just weird.
Should I contact her through ebay asking to send jeans back and give refund?

so she is saying she hasn't received them?

if they weren't sent recorded you will have to refund the buyer, either yourself or paypal will refund her themselves.

have you emailed her telling her when they were posted?

Sounds to me like she has either changed her mind and doesn't now want the jeans or is trying to pull one over on you.

If she opened a dispute within only 2 days of paying it sounds fishy.
I would email her and ask her why she has decided to do this.

happywheezer · 11/11/2011 15:51

She hasn't said anything fergoose, all I know is a dispute has been opened up on paypal. My ebay says nothing.
I don't know if she has received them.
Paypal are asking for proof of posting, which I may be able to get. I posted througgh paypal and have their proof of postage thing too.
I'm easygoing though, I'll have the jeans back to sell again, no problem.

I had an eejit buyer try to open a dispute less than a week after an auction finished, I sent a very long message explaining that they item was still en route (I had posted same day that she paid, but using parcels, as advertised, so not fast delivery!). She didn't reply, but didn't pursue the Paypal dispute any further & even gave me positive feedback a week later Confused.

I thought you had to enter post office to actually get proof of posting for paypal? Can you phone her direct to sort this out?

fergoose · 11/11/2011 16:25

If you don't have a tracking number proving delivery you will have to refund her unfortunately

Proof of posting isn't enough to stop her getting a refund. You would only have certificate of postage if you took the parcel to the post office and they gave it to you, to prove you sent the item. This is only useful for you to claim for a lost item with royal mail.

We don't even know why the dispute has been opened, (does Paypal not require a reason?). Perhaps she feels item was not as described. But Paypal/Ebay try to get you to resolve it first with direct contact.

fergoose · 11/11/2011 17:09

oh I thought it was for not received. is it a not as described dispute then?

FabbyChic · 13/11/2011 00:41

Sign into PayPal and go to the resolution centre, it will tell you what type of dispute it is.
