Hi all,

I bid on, and won, a lovely pair of boys boots. Was quite pleased as they sold for very reasonable price. I paid for them on the 16th Oct, seller emailed to let me know she'd sent them last Monday 2nd class post.
However they haven't arrived yet...

This has never happened to me before [am relatively new to ebay] and so I wanted to check with more experienced ebayers if I have doing right thing in this situation.

I have notified seller and she is going to check it out with the post office at her end.

I was just wondering if I can leave it up to seller to chase at this point. Looking on the ebay website I see that I can open a case if I want but I don't think this is necessary at this point? I also see that I have up to 45 days from purchase date to open a case if seller cannot/will not resolve it. I want to give seller a chance to resolve the issue first. Is this reasonable?

Thanks!

your seller posted them a bit late - I wonder if she still hasn't sent them or they were sent later than last monday. Sellers should post items within 7 days as per paypal rules.

seller should refund after 3 weeks (15 working days) and they are responsible for claiming with royal mail as they have the contract with them. if they refuse to do this, then open a dispute.

Thanks Fergoose!

I wondered as well whether she hadn't sent the boots yet... particularly as they probably were sold to me for less than she would have liked [and may have decided to keep them?]

Although maybe I am doing her a disservice and she has posted them and they have been lost in transit.

Hopefully they will turn up or she will refund me...

I would wait until your post has been delivered on monday, then send another email saying it has been 2 weeks since you sent these can you please refund me, once i have received refund i will agree to cancellation of transaction

whatever the blurb in item description says it is the sellers responsibilty to claim from post office if item is lost the earliest you can do this is 15 working days ( which if she really posted them then is 14th november) technically she does not need to refund until 14th in case they turn up

however she can not wait until her claim with royal mail has been approved before refunding, sometimes things turn up very late, and if you have received refund i would recommend doing the honest thing and paying her again

Thanks for your advice Sarahtigh!
